Today I was in front of judge Cox for a preset postponement request which happened because the district court denied my request to postpone due to the conflict (quite improperly in my opinion).
Judge Cox very kindly offered to call over to the district court to resolve the issue for me. I didn’t end up needing to take her up on it but still nice to know that a judge has your back and has their head in the real world when you have courts telling you to defy physics and be in two places at once.

One of those few judges that can make even a difficult case a pleasure to try. Took all pre-trial issues very seriously and yet handled them in a relaxed manner. Good judge to have for a civil case.

Comments:
I appeared before Judge Cox for an administrative appeal involving complex and technical issues. She had read all of the memoranda submitted by the parties beforehand, as well as all case law cited by the parties. She treated me and the AG fairly and respectfully, and asked thoughtful questions. Although she ruled against me and I had to take the case to COSA, she explained her decision in a well thought out and scholarly opinion. Judge Cox is one of the best on the bench.

Outstanding to work with in a complex case. Early chambers hours three days a week to handle specially set cases without the need for protracted motions.
