Comments:
Judge Asti clearly favors men when making her decisions. She has little regard for what is in “the best interest of the child.” Judge Asti is the only Judge I have ever seen that doesn’t appoint guardian ad litem for children in contentious custody hearings. Having worked as a social worker in Child Protective Services for close to 30 years, I have never seen a Judge who has such little empathy for children!

She is definitely bias to men. When you have evidence presented of physical and mental abuse and she ignored everything. The child’s best interest is not want she was seeking. I really do not know how anyone chose her a judge.

Comments:
I was thoroughly impressed with Judge Asti's presence when presiding over a bitter custody trial. She was confident, poised and professional despite still physically recovering from a recent procedure.

She was correctly 100% preoccupied with only the best interest of the child. While she heard stories, promises, complaints of this or that, it was clear she ultimately saw two parents who care and miraculously got them to come to an agreement in less than a day.

She was knowledgeable and easily saw through a pile of court paperwork and technicalities. She completely unraveled an intelligence-insulting yarn being spun by the litigant in the case.

Even with three sides and as many attorneys to deal with, she maintained civility, pressed for real answers over bs ones, and cut off attorneys who beat around the bush when a yes or no would suffice. Judge Asti didn't ride roughshod over anyone, but she certainly regulated her court.

Comments:
Judge Asti showed a clear and consistent bias and actively helped the litigant and her attorney throughout the trial. In addition, the trial lasted several days longer than necessary due to her laxed Courtroom demeanor and general inability to control the Courtroom. She ignored the facts in the case and offered such a poorly worded Opinion that my attorney commented it was the was almost incoherent. My overal opinion is that Judge Asti should not be on the bench.

Comments:
Seems to have a fondness for men and ruled based on the "word" of attorney and client as opposed to "fact". Gives the term "benefit of the doubt" new meaning and was easily swayed by the charm and manipulative tactics of the defendant. Believes that high conflict divorces are the result of both parties difficulties and could not seem to grasp that it doesn't always take "two to tango" despite an inordinate amount of proof. Defendant was proven to have lied under oath both in testimony and on financial form and yet there was no consequence for perjury. I was very disappointed in how much leeway judges have with discretion.

She failed to consider all evidence in the case or Motions that had a substantial affect on the outcome of the case. Sadly her lack of attention to the testimony was indicative of how arbitrary outcomes can be regardless of the time, money and evidence dedicated to presenting a solid case.

I have argued two motions in front of her and she was well prepared and seemed to rule correctly both times.

She doesn't belong on the bench. She had never tried a case before getting elected as a judge. I have seen two of her cases in person, and she obviously likes to please certain attorneys no matter what the evidence. She probably feels right at home in Anne Arundel County.
