Judge seemed disinterested, disconnected from what was going on in the room, nodding at times. Rendered a decision with no explanation for his decision. Made a decision that was against US Tax Codes - told the defendant that he could use his flexible spending account to pay child support, US Tax code clearly states this is not an eligible expense!

Comment #: MD5121
Judge Northrup is extremely biased with disregard to the law, the evidence and even the best interest of children. He was disinterested in testimony even nodding off several times during trial. His findings were irrefutably catered to one side despite evidence suggesting the contrary. Run from this judge!

He's very punctual. I'd never been in his courtroom so I asked the clerk when he'd take the bench. She said that as soon as both sides of a case are present she calls and he comes. In the cases I watched before my motion was called he was clearly prepared and attentive.

i have never had a problem with him treats everyone fairly

Comment #: MD872
Extremely biased. Has his mind made up which side he is on and disregards the rules of law. Very one sided. Pays no attention to the evidence once he makes his mind up. Fails to properly instruct the jury. Travesty of justice!

Pleasantly surprised at his trial-judge skills. Absolutely understood the issues, the objections, the proof and presided as a much more seasoned trial judge than his tenure indicates. Kept the jury informed and attentive during a complex trial.

Terrible at the Rules. Looks for the easy way out.
