IMO Judge White is the epitome of a totally bad judge. She is arrogant, hostile, intellectually dishonest, biased, pre-judges every case to the extent that she has often already written out her rulings before she even hears the arguments. On top of that she is totally disrespectful of the lawyers in front of her and does not bother to find out the controlling law in the matter before her. She just decides cases based on her own prejudiced beliefs and barely offers a rationale other than it's what she thinks and so it must be right. She virtually always invades the province of the jury, since no jury that disagrees with her could possibly be behaving rationally in her estimation. She always favors the insurance defense side and not only reflexively rules against all black plaintiffs, but she even routinely inserts herself as an advocate and aide for the defense side and will go so far as to make and grant a motion for the defense, when none has been made. If she doesn't like your answers to interrogatories, but the defendant has not even complained, she will raise the issue herself at hearing and then grant her own motion for sanctions, never having given any opportunity to know what the supposed motion was or to respond to it. I have actually stood in her courtroom as she engaged in one of her rants and wondered if she was seriously mentally ill. [Redacted by Ed.] She hasn't the most basic understanding of the proper role of a judge in our system.

[Redacted by Ed.]
She's a perfect case study in almost everything wrong with our "justice" system.

It's a joke that she is still on the bench, but it's decidedly not funny.

I have had many clients, innocent injured children, totally denied justice because of her pathology.

In my opinion, she appears to favor defendants in civil matters. She has stricken a verdict in favor of a plaintiff on speculative grounds.

A judge that takes a long time in her written opinion to essentially let you know that she didn't read or consider some of the things she had in front of her. Do you listen to parties before you, or do you only hear your own thoughts?

Went before Judge White on a record appeal from the District Court. I was pleasantly surprised to see that she had read the briefs before oral argument and was fully prepared to discuss the case. Judge White even asked questions about an issue that I had only raised in a footnote.

I was impressed with her thoroughness and her seeming mastery of all the legal concepts involved.

Spoke with parental kindness and long-suffering to shock a drunk into waking up and changing his ways. God would have deferred to her, and I believe he did. Let the full weight of the justice system, and the threat of court-appointed guardianship and denial of rights be enough to straighten the drunkard's crooked way, O Lord. More could not be done on earth. I saw the Lord speaking, with the voice of redemption, through Judge White. "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over little. I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master."--Matthew 25:21. There is a balm in Gilead.

This was a horrible experience! Judge White obviously doesn't take the time to read the case brief, nor give the time to be briefed. She rambled through my hearing with unintelligible gibberish, while leafing through a law manual. Yet, she yelled at me that she was simply not going to allow me to argue my case based on the legal requirements of Maryland Rule 7-207. I spent both time and money on research, only to be treated unprofessionally and unethically, for a case where it was quite apparent that Judge White had already made her decision. In fact, she stated that she was not going to go against the defendants. This judge is definitely biased in favor of the government.

Judge White was quite rude to me in not granting me the opportunity to present my evidence. Oddly, after I had the time to separate and reflect, I was able to see that she did in fact see all of the injustices in my case, in spite of her ruling against me.

This judge is horrible. She is very unprofessional, lacks the appropriate courtroom mannerisms, and is obviously biased with a minimum of intellect. The moment that I was told that she was the presiding judge in my case, I knew it was over. She is not ready for Appeals Court. At the very least, she should take the time to read the case files. Very tacky!

Judge White is intellectually dishonest, and favors the defense (civil) and any government agent to the point of absurdity. She is punitive in all pretrial matters. She has set up a laundry list of requirements (some vague) for mediation and pretrial with an eye toward punishment even for immaterial deviations that impact nothing -- that is, if you are a plaintiff. If you are a defense counsel, no worries, you can just stand there, she'll hand you your excuses. On summary judgment she'll do what she can to help the defense, and express regret that she can't do more.

Awful. Phony. Disingenuously and inartfully disguises her personal and systemic prejudices (If she doesn't like you, good chance you will lose; conservative Republican; pro civil defense; pro prosecution). Not particularly bright. Pretends to understand with no real desire to do so because she is afraid to ask clarifying questions lest she be viewed as dumb or because it would make her job of ruling in a biased way more difficult. Tireless schmoozer because she badly wants to be on the Court of Appeals.

Judge White is pro-insurance defendant and makes her mind up wya before the trial. She acts like a dictator. In my trial with her, every decision she made was pro-defendant. I will give her credit though, once she figured out (after 2 days) at trial that the defendant lawyer was being a jerk she became a much better judge and even handed.

Judge White has demonstrated an ability to listen to both sides before reaching a conclusion, a welcome change from the rubberstamping of the State's position that often seems to come with wear & tear on the sensibilities of many others after serial over-exposure to instances of people on their worst behavior. Judge White seems able to retain a Constitutional outlook and to apply the various standards of proof without systemic difficulty.

Judge white seemed to already have her mind made up with some EXTREME bias before we ever got to court.
She had my council removed from the court room them allowed the proceedings to go on and refused to allow me council. I repeatedly asked for a delay and or council. She acknowledged that even thought I was in NO WAY qualified to defend myself or my company she was continuing the proceedings and If I left the court she would allow a default judgement against me. She then, With the court microphone covered, told me that I should settle or would obviously be outclassed by the local attorney who she had previous court experience with.

Judge White took three hours to hear a motion in a medical malpractice case that required no more than thirty minutes to be heard. She arrived unprepared, having not read the arguments in each motion in their entirety and then allowed defense counsel a great deal of leeway in his arguments, while hammering plaintiff's counsel on her arguments. Her reasoning was, as described in an earlier comment, rigid and uninformed. A very unpleasant experience, all told.

Judge White is a bad judge. She appears distinguished, speaks temperately to the lawyers who come before her, and she appears to speak intelligently when you first hear her. However, she is speaking gibberish because she just plain gets the law wrong on basic points of commercial law. Litigating in front of her is very dangerous because she doesn't understand her role as a Circuit Court judge. I agree with an earlier comment that she fails to control bad behavior in her courtroom, and she seems to be allergic to making a legal ruling that could possibly go up on appeal. She is in way over her head when she hears matters off of the civil docket.

I understand that she is better at being a domestic relations judge. That work is relatively easy to do and it is often quite repetitive. The Baltimore City Circuit Court should think long and hard before allowing her to take commercial litigation cases again.

Judge White strikes me as a reasonably intelligent judge who does her homework. However, she is afraid to make the hard decisions, and is unwilling to control unprofessional behavior out of counsel, which needlessly prolongs litigation. Overall, I prefer other judges on this court.
