A smart and fair judge who tries very hard to do what's right under the law and facts, even if he doesn't personally agree. He has a casual, good sense of humor that makes his courtroom generally a welcoming place. But the pressure of being a judge sometimes leads him to lose his temper and lash out under circumstances that, were he not a judge, he might think he should apologize.

Judge Atwill is fair-minded, seems to always try to reach the right result based on the law and facts, has a great judicial temperament, and is professional, courteous, gentlemanly, in control of his court room, and grasps complex issues quickly. I enjoy handling cases in his courtroom.
