Judge Daniel G Pelikan is a seasoned (since 1998) judge. I was absolutely floored at his lack of discretion. As I approached the podium I asked Judge Pelikan “Are we on the record”? He stated “No” I said my courts a court of record, and he said your mistaken. I said I’m not it’s the law, and without missing a beat he said “no I am the law” before I could even respond he continued by saying “I would be careful what you say under your breath Robinson there is a big man standing next to you” and I followed up by stating “are you threatening me your honor” he started stuttering and said maybe we should start over review this document and sit down and I’ll call you back up. This man does not need to be a judge he is the definition of bias and injustice and committed treason and sedition in open court.

Seems very prejudice towards women. I've sat in court with my wife listening to cases where he just runs down women and speaks more respectfully to men. Watching him give someone guilty of sexually violating a minor probation, but probation and shock jail time to my first time offender wife And probation really upset me. Wouldn't even let us speak prior to sentencing although our attorney suggested writing letters to him regarding my wife's character. Didn't care that we had a newborn baby and that I'm an over the road trucker with no set time off to have coverage for my kids while he expected my wife to do shock jail time on petty charges. His decision has done nothing but make life harder on my family. The way we spoke to my wife that day is something I will remember forever. Shame on you Judge. Please retire.

Extremely rude and entitled old man who needs to retire so that a fresh face and someone without ancient perspectives can judge. He was very contradictory and awful. Worst experience ever.

I agree with comment mo84.Why in the world he was given a person of the year award is beyond me.Especially when there are teachers and advocates that work with troubled youth day in and day out that deserve it more.People that actually work for a libing.giving their all everyday for what about one sixth of Pelikan salary. He doesn't do any community service unless it is an interview to boost his image or benefits the Catholic church.

I have known Judge Pelikan before and after he took the bench. I have always found him to be extremely fair, honest and approachable. He is tough on certain types of criminal cases, especially repeat offenders - this is expected from all Judges. I have also found him to be compassionate with first time offenders and willing to provide them with a second chance. In regard to civil matters, I feel that he is one of the most intelligent judges in the circuit and willing to perform the neccessary research when needed. In summary, I find Judge Pelikan to be a great judge and I enjoy practicing in front of him.
