Comments:
Judge Rosa is a very fair judge. I have had 2 cases heard in his court and have been satisfied with his extensive knowledge of the law and his ability to summarize the main arguments from both sides in a timely fashion.

Eight months in court so far for a simple tenancy case. Tenants living free for these months and free utilities. NO RESOLUTION so far and counting. Considering legal action.

Does not read his paperwork. If you go before this lovely Justice Joseph R. Rosa Jr. is a disgrace to our Judicial System. I am homeless due to him ignoring me, not reading his paperwork, my notice to quit was bad, he did not deny or grant my 'motion' (which I didn't realize until weeks later due to the double talking) just told me to take my case to the Appellate Court make sure you are on your toes especially if you are 'pro se'. I lost my Subsidized Housing from this 'Justice' - there was no justice done in his courtroom with my case.

Worst judge ever encounterd in 25 years. Judge Rosa didn’t want to evict a squatter for an 86 year owner who needs her money to live in an assisted living facility. Judge Rosa allowed Joseph Colombo, a 58 year old man, to live rent free in his mother’s house. What a disgrace!!! If a judge doesn’t want to do his job, he should be FIRED!!

I think Judge Rosa is a bit harsh, and doesn't show the respect he should to people. However, I've been to court twice for an eviction I filed and he was very fair. I sat through a number of his hearings and I think he rules according to the law. There are so many ignorant clueless people, I can see why he treats people the way he does. It gets old hearing excuses constantly.

this judge is so unfair I was not even able to plead my case and he ruled against me and gave me 8 -10 days to leave my home. When I have 3 small children and two of them are disabled. We cannot find a new place to live we can afford but he did not want to hear it. He also evicted the other tenant with 3 children and a senior citizen and it is not for non payment for rent it is so the landlord can sell the house

Shamelessly biased to his "favorite" attorneys, but smart enough to spew his BS in chambers off the record. So he forces you to take a settlement for pennies on the dollar. Then he gets points for "efficiently" clearing his calendar. Routinely gives landlords contractually entitled to "reasonable" attorneys fees $200 without even a hearing on the subject. That's about 1/10 the actual going rate. Not enough money involved to appeal so he gets away with it. Worst judge I've encountered in 25 years of practice. If I could rate "0" I would.

Very unporfessional. Violated the court rules he kept explaining for 45 minutes. Dismissed my case without letting it go through mediation as requiered under the court rules. Threatend to have me arested for calling him on it, direct violation of my first amendment rights. I have filed a complaint with the Judcial reviw board.

We won a trial before him. And yet, I can still say he's the biggest nut job I've ever heard of in my 15 years of practicing law. He should be disbarred. He's very rude, and does not follow the law. (I'm still happy, however, that the trial was won.)

If I may enter a rating below 0, his would be way down there. Judge Joseph Rosa Jr. is the worst judge I have ever known and seen. He is cruel, senseless, unreasonable, and unjust. He helps an impostor illegally evict a senior citizen, who has diabetes, cancer and heart disease from her home of 18 years. He assists an unlicensed New York City lawyer to commit fraud. Under his protection, the unlicensed lawyer not only escapes the punishment of the law, but also shamelessly sues the victims who have lost everything (home, job, health, due to their misconduct) for pain and suffering. Judge Joseph Rosa Jr. abuses his power. As presiding judge of the Special Civil Part of Bergen County Supreme Court, he colludes with Newark Appellate Court judges, and blocks the victims from filing an Emergent Appeal. Furthermore, he denies the indigent victims’ motion for waiving the filing fees, and instead throws a list of homeless shelters at the victims. He backs wealthy criminals evicting innocent, lawful citizens onto the streets. Judge Joseph Rosa Jr. is a shame to the human race. He brings disgrace to the judicial system, and he should be removed from the bench at once. However, he is protected by other high-ranking judges, so that, instead of punishment, he is promoted to Presiding Judge. Any complaint against him is blocked by the Bergen County Superior Court Assignment Judge. The New Jersey justice system is so corrupt: judges conceal unethical lawyers, and high-ranking judges cover up for their subordinates. For us, the average, powerless citizens, the only way to remove a terrible judge from the bench is by gathering our strength, raising our voice, and generating as many supporters as possible, so that someone with the ability and power will eventually listen to us.

How is this man allowed to remain on the bench? He is nasty and very rude. Violates the rights of Pro se litigants. Will not look at evidence or let you have a say. He's a hot-head and does nothing but yell at people and insult them. His courtroom is a circus.

It seems that Judge Rosa has some "arrangement" with the firm of Pressler & Perssler and specifically attorney Thomas Brogan of that firm. Almost always rules in Pressler's favor and seems to award attorney's fees in the aggregate of over $2000.00 per hour (where can I get paid like that?). In addition I have seen Judge Rosa constantly and consistently violate Pro-Se litigant's rights. Judge Rosa need to resign "in the interest of justice" or be removed from office.
