In the case of Sparf and Hansen v. United States, the U.S. Supreme Court dissenting opinion by two Justices quoted a legal reference condemning hiring former government prosecutors onto the judiciary. Judge Ashrafi is one of them whom should not have been appointed to the Appellate Division and Superior Court bench. Victor Ashrafi was the trial prosecutor against me in a federal criminal prosecution against me for a nasty letter I sent to federal judge Debevoise, for which I admit mea culpa, namely, U.S. v. Richard Paul Zuckerman, Indictment number 91-108 (NHP). But I was railroaded for psychiatric treatment to Butner F.C.I. quack government forensic psychiatrists, taken thru trial in the same federal courthouse complex where victim judge Debevoise presided (my pro se motion for change of venue, judge disqualification denied), and found guilty. Note that one particular time I was brought into court before trial, I sat towards the rear of the courtroom, with nobody else in the spectator seats of the courtroom, and I overheard prosecutor Ashrafi tell the F.B.I. or U.S. Marshal, something to the effect he does not like Jews.

Comments:
It surprises me that, with the smarts that Judge Ashrafi so obviously has, he is not in the Appellate Division.

VERY prejudice and col,sed minded. In our case, he obviously made up his mind before the case started and was friends with the defendants lawyer. Did NOT have a fair trial.

Comments:
Has been explosive at times; holds a grudge against certain defendants who are sued frequently, whether or not the claims are meritorious or supported by any evidence.

What a difference from the "old days" of this dreaded venue - it's now a pleasure to deal with the civil assignment clerk and Judge Ashrafi is a complete professional to deal with - I would not have any hestitation about appearing before this fine judge
