Comments:
Judge Allen-Jackson is an extremely kind and personable jurist, which you'll quickly notice when observing one of her hearings. She is also thorough with her decisions. She is willing to make difficult decisions when the occasion merits - I observed a proceeding where she declined to find probable cause for the charged offense at a detention hearing, which rarely occurs. She is an excellent judge and embodies the fact that a judge can be both effective and "human" at the same time.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NJ395
Rating:3.7
Comments:
Fails to independently master facts and issues, relying instead on Prosecutors' conclusory factual statements. Her relatively pleasant demeanor conceals a callous indifference to the injustice wrought by her uncritical prosecutorial bias. Her pro-prosecution bias does not appear to be ideological. Instead, it seems to stem from a desire to take a "safe" position on complicated issues and facts rather than invest the time and thought necessary to come to her own conclusions.

Comments:
Clearly getting used to the robes, but takes her cues on temperament from her boss, and that's a good thing. Fairly even-handed, but will whack a guy on sentencing. In general, she's learning on the job, but she's learning well.
