this judge is too strictly adhering to the law, not common law so that I need to see if he has his oath and bond in place at it is the only viable way to keep me out of jail. No empathy at all

My regard for the NJ Judiciary has been dealt a serious blow when this clown was promoted to P.J.

The prior comments are spot on. This "Judge" makes no findings of legal basis regarding bails. I concur that he has no idea how to determine a fair and balanced bail amount for defendants pursuant a true balancing of factors under R. 3:26-1. He simply does not follow State v. Johnson. I wonder if he can even name all of the current NJ Supreme Court Justices...

Judge Minkowitz forced me (plaintiff) and defendant to sit through a total of TWELVE intensive settlement conferences. My ex-wife refused to compromise on anything and wanted a longer term of alimony than we were married for (5 years). He REFUSED to make a ruling and kept sending us back to ISC even though the defendant refused to budge. He cost me my job because I spent months and months in court and eventually heard our trial. He again refused to make any decisions at trial and sent us to a THIRD judge to hash out an agreement after 2.5 days of trail. This man is a horrible judge and is an embarrassment our system. He needs to be removed fromthe bench immediately!

Judge Minkowitz needs to be removed from the bench.I don't understand how it can take almost a year and 6 motions for simple emancipation. My daughter went in the Marines and still have not gotten emancipation or financial relief.I thought this was a simple thing.Original divoce agreement states upon enlistment in military a child is emancipated. No brainer for a judge with a BRAIN.

Very apparently does not read his cases (motions/cross-motion). Appeared to rely upon his recently appointed clerk to make his decisions. Unfortunately my children are the ones suffering the most from this man's either inability or lack or desire to do his job and it remains my fervent wish that he gets removed from the bench before some innocent children suffer even more than the emotional and financial harm that he has brought upon my children and me with his irresponsible and half-baked brand of 'wisdom'. Shame on you Stuart A. Minkowitz! You don't deserve the honor, much less the responsibility, of being a 'Judge'!

Judge Minkowitz was presented my motion for emancipation of my daughter in april of 2010.Her ewe are 5 motions and big legal fees later Jan.2011 still not done.he gave my ex-wife plenty of time and chances to get him financial information still nothing.I think he is afraid to make a decision,he just keeps citing other rulings, and does'nt make his own. The man should not be a JUDGE.

It has been months and I have yet to comprehend what happened in Morris County Courthouse . Judge Minkowitz saw lawyers in chambers, made no rulings on the items that were presented in the case. It was obvious he had no desire to analyze, even briefly, what was presented to him. He proceeded to made financial decisions that did nothing but benefit the father in this case (and he makes a significant income) and my children are left with a huge financial burden as a result. Actually he didn't make any rulings in chambers as he can't because it is off record, but made it perfectly clear to the lawyers that if we went into the courtroom, he was going to rule a certain way. This judge does not deserve the privilege of donning a robe and representing our legal system. He made no decisions on the items presented to him, spent no time reviewing the case and looking for fairness. If I did not already know he was a father himself, I would have assumed he had none or disliked children. Judge Minkowitz, if you don't like your job or don't want to do the work to do your job adequately, please step down and let someone else have an opportunity to handle these cases. I have heard of other cases before you and the same comments.....he makes no decisions. YOU seem to be a huge reason why legal bills pile up for those of us trying to enforce an original agreement. Up until this point, I had faith in the legal system and that the system works fairly. Well, not only did I learn my lesson, my children did as well. You, Judge Minkowitz, are a perfect example of what is wrong with our New Jersey legal system.

This Judge is biased. This Judge never read the motion or cross-motions prior to the trail. It appeared the Judges decisions were already decided prior to the trial when he called both sides of the lawyers into his chambers.
(yelling could be heard from his chambers as we sat in the courtroom). When the Judge sat on the bench he appeared annoyed and did not want to be there. My lawyer pointed out all aspects I wanted addressed and yet he did not make a ruling or findings on all of them. He also was not listening to everything my lawyer was saying because when my lawyer finished there statement and requests he moved on to what he wanted to talk about and thus appeared to ignore some of my lawyers request.
There is great concern in the Judicial system when a Judge, (as in Judge Minkowitz) brings into trial another circumstance (his biased view points and unfair decisions). For whatever reason he formed his bias decisions the outcome is very serious, because in no way does his decisions involve his enjoyments and quaility time with his family. Yet this Judge can and does inpact the daily lives of the families he renders his decisions for. The children best interests are clearly not his priority.
I find that Judge Minkowitz should be removed from the bench.

Makes decision based on appearance, does not matter what your defense is when he makes a decision even if its wrong he will not admit it and will not allow defense to bring it up and will end trial briskly

Judge has all ready made his decision on you before you even speak in my case.
He could not comprehend what brain damage can cause in what seems to be a normal response, but is not do to you inability to communicate well even if you prove you not guilty. This judge is bias he when he is in court. This judge does not belong on the bench. Plus his court recorder will delete something wrong the judge said by pause button and not recording manually the exact words.I found this type of law practiced by are court system does not serve the public if the judge is not acting in a legal a humane manner. Morris County system needs a major overhaul and certain people in the the system should be charged for the grief they have brought to others, Because they are not happy at their job. This man doe not belong on the bench, If he looks at the ceiling in the first 2 minutes of the trial you are guilty before you even opened your mouth. Some one in gov should investigate this bias Judge. How many other innocent people have been found guilty because this guys in to much of a rush? If this judge represents what we have now we are in bad shape.
