The Peter Principle is at work when this judge got elevated to theAppellate Court....thank goodness it is a"temporary " appointment. She is extremely prejudice towards litigants she does not like and favors attorney's she does like and their clients. Her judicial temperament, from what I observed, is atrocious. If you can avoid her when she returns to a trial court, do it .
Her reputation among trial lawyers is spotty at best. Her rulings are erratic and have no basis in fact or law. She shoots from the hip at whatever litigant she does not like. She was the worst in family court as she hated most men, unless represented by the right attorney she liked. Very clubby with some lawyers and antagonistic towards those she did not like.

She actually ignored the evidence provided to her that was Court Orders, Government Agencies Statements, Probation office documentation and decided to take the word of my ex a convicted felon with a history criminal abduction of a child, violation of court orders and child and spousal abuse.

General assumption is when you enter the court of law where justice are blind. As soon as I entered the courtroom, the judge was biased against me because I'm a man. A male attorney also represented me. My attorney was not given a chance to properly represent me and present all the evidence because he was constantly interrupted and talked over by the judge. She didn’t look at any evidence that were provided in my motion, all was ignored. The judge knew she was going to rule against me and she made it pretty clear. Her hatred for men was obvious. When the other attorney, who happens to be a woman, was speaking, the judge would let her finish. As soon as my attorney would try to stand up for me and argue my case, she immediately shut him down. Her decision was not made based on evidence presented in the action. She clearly disregarded all of evidence that were presented in court and made an unlawful decision.

I was shocked that this judge had the temperament that she did. She was all over the place.
Additionally seemed to make up her mind against all evidence, this is not he said she said, she actually saw the statement from the NJ Probation office that clearly showed that my ex owed 17,000 in child support, and she stated on the record that she found that my ex owed nothing based on my ex's assertion. EVEN THOUGH THE DOCUMENT that my ex provided to show she paid CLEARLY SHOWED that she owed!!!
Additionally, when my ex made a statement personally attacking the integrity of the judge, Judge Firko attacked me and chewed me out for that statement for "How dare YOU besmirch an honorable judge like that" even though it was my ex that put that IN WRITING.
All this is even more perplexing in the fact that my ex is a CONVICTED Felon that at one point abducted our youngest child over seas and flaunted the US Justice system. Is barred from unsupervised visits to the children on account of past actions. Yet the Criminal with a history of abuse has the judges heart and ear.
the list goes on and on, and I have compiled enough and with simple google research have found a wake of destruction of this judge. Gathering the history of rulings, by analyzing the raw data of this judges rulings shows a CLEAR trend of bias that will be yet another source of information for the The Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct
