I love how all of these people come on here and destroy this judge having never appeared before her. They simply believe what they read. I appeared before Judge Silva on several cases, and I find her to be fair and just. She is a great jurist, and I know she will not be removed because of some ridiculous political agenda. Don’t come on this forum and rip a judge who you know nothing about. Grow up people.

She clearly demonstrates that ALL judges need training on sexual abuse...about the victims, the offenders, trauma, and the myths and stereotypes that are so prevalent in society. These judges are products of that society too. Having a law degree does not make one immune to ignorance on certain topics.

I’ve appeared before her multiple times over the last year and a half and have found her to be fair to both the State and juvenile. She’s always available to conference cases, reasonable with adjournment requests and courteous to attorneys and litigants. I’ve never seen any bias towards males or in favor of the accused and I have represented both before her.

Most of my experience with NJ state judges has been positive, but it doesn't get worse than this. Will move heaven and earth to get cases off her calendar for no good reason. You can make up court rules and precedent and get away with it if you sound right. Hopefully not up for tenure yet. Litigants beware, attorneys beware.

Absolutely biased against men whether the male is a dad or lawyer. She ignores evidence and isn’t aware of certain parts of the law and as a judge she should be competent enough to know the law in and out. She’s more passionate to whoever is being convicted rather than the victim. Sitting in this court room and listen to her blow passed evidence and ignore certain aspects is very unsettling

She recently presided over my son’s juvenile matter. I was surprised when she said she only been in juvenile for 11 months because she seemed very competent. She was compassionate and patient. She even apologized to our family for being a few minutes late coming out on the bench, which our attorney said he has never heard a judge do. Going to court with our son was a horrible experience but this judge made us feel very comfortable. We really believe she cares.

Doesn't know the law. Needs to be removed from the bench. Biased against DADs. She'll say your a disgruntled parent to hide what she's doing. She lies on the record and in her rulings, ignores evidence and just bitter she's in a lousy marriage. She's been married multiple times. If you're a man don't get a lawyer. She thinks it's payback for what her x did to her.

refuse to follow case laws and her oath as a lawyer and judge. Lies on the record. If you're a male and minority she thinks you subscribe to MACHISMO so watch out. Constantly violates fathers rights because her pension is tied to the amount of fraudulent orders she signs off. I wonder if she has innocent people sitting in jail since she's a former prosecutor. I found her to be caring and compassionate. She listened to both parties, cut through the bs easily and made a fair ruling. She tries to settle matters often but when that doesn't work she will make a ruling.

Horrible human being. Former prosecutors shouldn't be in family court. Lies on and off the record. Her staff says nothing for a paycheck. Angry woman who's life is in shambles so she's taking it out on any man that comes thru. If you're black or brown watch out. Only reason she's a judge is because of political connection in Trenton.

I was blindsided by my ex when in court for another issue and was smacked with an order to show cause before walking in the courtroom. He had a lawyer since he knew what he was planning to do to me and I did not, as I was not prepared for what he was going to do to me. The judge immediately saw him as the "better party" because he could afford a $500 an hour lawyer, and made an opinion on me. She cut my parenting time with my 8 year old girl from 60% to 13% because all I can afford is a one bedroom apartment and my ex was able to get on low income housing and had two bedrooms. She allowed my ex to claim that he makes $33K a year, when he actually earns $34 an hour, that would be equivalent to about 15 hours a week of work. She did not deem this a under-employed.Though 8 years ago when we divorced he was capable of making $50K a year. She was nothing but degrading to me the entire proceeding, and has put an 8 year old girl in the hands of a father that only wants her for the money. I get an hour with my daughter 2 times a week and every other Friday and Saturday night. How that is in the best interest of an 8 year old girl I don't know. Apparently in the eyes of this judge a wall between beds is more important than a daughter being with her mother. I have lost ALL faith in the legal system due to the power given to this inexperienced judge, who has forever changed my life as well as my daughters.

Fair and kind. I am a man and was surprised by her ruling. I have been brutalized in Middlesex county family court for 4 years. Silva was the first judge to rule in the best interests of my child. Lord Bless Judge Silva and I pray she stays on the bench.

Sexist, biased, does not know the law she is suppose to enforce. Will not enforce prior court orders (including her own). Cannot handle complex issues. If you are a man going before her, keep it at an elementary school level.
