I once said to him that we had a valid argument. To which he asked "and why would you say that?". I started with "well the law clearly states..." when he interrupted me shouting "I am the law!". And that was the end of the dialogue. We used to compare him in the office to a 3 year old holding a gun a shooting up in the air at random.

He must have been paid by landlords to be sooooo pro landlord. If you are a woman under 30 y/o he is probably stalking you. He is, yes, the real criminal. I have also witnessed his racism bias pro Africans often. Its a shame racist, sexist, disgusting arrogants like him go under the radar...

If he is gone from the New York system, it is not soon enough. Wherever he is, he will be stumbling, exercising reverse discrimination, expressing hatred, misconstruing and misapplying the law, and hopefully looking for another job far, far away from New York, but a cinch to fail in any endeavor.

very rude judge, works only for lawyers, tells them how to drag cases on all day watches his phone and tablet instead of doing trials, and he favors woman tenants particularly African American woman, everybody else is bad for him, he does not even listen to any hispanic or other race people, but when AA woman are in front of him he drools and makes the case go their way

If you want to know what kind of a man this judge is, Google his Indiana court case where he tried to win damages in a minor car accident by claiming a torn miniscus in his knee. Oops, that kind of tear is usually the result of wear and tear, testified the doctor! He is such a bad, bad man. There's also a Kenneth McClanahan "Crooked Judge" video circulating on the Internet, but I didn't play it yet. I did meet a very pretty girl in Housing Court who appeared before him who he was very nice to, however...big surprise there! He is a disgrace to the court.

A waste of a robe. He is an arrogant, mercurial angry bully who is in love with his sense of power over litigants. He does not know the law and is unwilling to learn.

I hesistate to call this man a Judge. One expects some level of condescension from idiots on powertrips, but the way he completely and utterly disregards the law in his rulings is truly striking. Don't waste your $45 fee on any HP or harassment claim - you won't be heard fairly. Spend your money lobbying for him to be ousted - as his term is up in 2012 (not sure what month).

The worst housing judge I have encountered in 30 years. Comes in late, has no tolerance for work -- expects cases to be done in a moment. Equally unfair to all parties, including landlords, tenants and HPD. Looks down his nose at all, incredibly dismissive. Since he has been the HP judge, no one is bringing HP cases because it's useless. Should not be a judge.

The other comment must be about a different judge - or, come to think of it, I have seen the unfailingly civil Judge McClanahan become impatient with those who waste the court's time with folly.
Sometimes it's not the judge, it's the lawyer.

A sad excuse for a judge. This man's "robe rage" is so over-the-top, that is a matter of negligence that he is even sitting on the bench. He needs therapy, not a courtroom

This judge is like a complete gift to landlords in Housing Court. Awful.
