McGowan is a bully and railroaded me into an insane financial position. She has no common sense and does not look at the paperwork she is handed, even when that paperwork comes from the court appointed financial advisors

Can confirm other comments. She is extremely biased, narrow minded and a bully. Very nasty and yes, very obviously has a God complex. Barely reads the documents/ motions etc. and makes snap decisions with no basis. What is she actually being paid for? To subvert and eradicate justice, it would seem. In my opinion, this judge is just another bloodsucker on the taxpayer's hard earned money.

She has severe limitations as a judge. Stubborn and hold extremely narrow-minded and entrenched views. Hard to break those built in prejeutices she brings with her to court and in front of your client. Unfortunately, these judges keep on asking to extend their term etc and due to a lack of opposition, they often win and usually tend to run uncontested in Queens. The one silver lining about her is that she will put intense pressure and coerce both parties to settle so if one litigant behaves, she has plenty of time and opportunities to see whose most to blame for prolonging litigation unnecessarily.

Representative of a type of a particularly narrow mindset based on her own views and comments passed in court around sensitive issues such as domestic violence and mental health.

She has a very rigid ideas around mental health and domestic abuse cases. She once told s litigant “it’s not possible for you to be a DV victim based on your level of education.” Quick to steotype others and goes by her gut feeling/instinct. Gives litigates she dislikes dirty looks and rolls her eyes. Hates reading motions.
Stubborn judges like her typically have a God
complex.

She’s a perfect reason for why it’s necessaey to have more diversity in the court system across the board. Gender, socioeconomic status, class, race, income stata, religion, age, life experience, background - you name it. Judges like McGowan’s tendency to default to built in biases and prejudices is a huge reason why we need an overhaul. When you have judges who rule based on rigid, narrow-minded views, stick to conservative values and are unflinching in their positions, if the litigants who come before them have a different life experience or background, it’s disheartening to make a case on behalf on your client.

Where’s the diversity in the court system?

Usually, there’s a huge call for diversity in NY - it’s time we get some other races, ethnicities & perspectives in there, that is more representative of the diverse mix in NYC!

Completely biased against attractive women and ignores the facts of people's career prospects. Bullies and threatens professional licenses to allow professionals to be further victimized by their emotionally abusive spouses and doesn't get that the legal profession has a glut of attorneys and six figure jobs don't go to people who didn't go to T1 law schools. Doesn't listen to facts at all and seems to support Mama's boys.

I think she is one of worst judge's there is in queens.Not once would she hear my statements defending myself reguarding my children.She is very unfair to biological parent I personally hope she gets thrown out from the court system.This experience being in her court room ruined my life,I plan to get justice for me and family and the many other lives she destroyed!!!
