Tough but fair. Takes a long time to issue opinions.

Judge DiBella needs to be removed from the bench ASAP. Does not review the facts to any degree when making Summary Judgements. A disproportionate number of his rulings have been reversed on appeal including high profile cases such as this politically motivated case http://www.yonkerstribune.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/wg_4_3_fin.pdf Putting power in the hands of such an incompetent and misguided individual is a very bad thing for society. How did this one weasel his way onto the bench?

He is living proof of the incompetence of our legal system. Here is a judge that does not feel that he needs to research the law properly, nor examine all the facts at face value. I'm sure that there are good and decent judges out there, but, unfortunately for me, I got this one.

I found Judge DiBella to be extremely fair and straightforward. He tells it like it is. I could tell he cares and is conscientious and hard working. I feel blessed to have had my case assigned to him. May God bless Judge DiBella

A horrible man. Does not care about facts once he has made up his mind whose side he is taking. Cantankerous, obnoxious, blowhard. Very unpredictable temper, has no compassion and does not care what is in the best interest of an elderly person. He needs to have his head examined. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with this nut-bag.

Do not waste Judge DiBella's time. If you can/should work things out before appearing in court then do so. Know the rules of his courtroom, be prepared, and what ever you do - do NOT interrupt, ever.
It is intimidating appearing in his courtroom as his voice is loud and he will tell you in no uncertain terms what the consequences of your actions are. I don't think he handles his frustration as well as he could, however, I think he uses his voice and somewhat imposing presence to make his point when he wants. Not necessarily a bad thing in a judge.

Absolutely the most arrogant, hot headed, disrepectful psychopath that threatened every one involved in the case. You wonder what happened to our legal system? Do not go behind closed doors with him, unless of course you enjoy being screamed at and threatened. Totally non-professional. PS. We won the case.

This man is an insult to the judicial system. As others have stated,he is rude, condescending, disrespectful and exudes an unwarrented arrogance. He renders his decisions from his own ideas and certainly not from the facts which he does not even examine. During the court session he displays a complete disinterest in the proceedings, rarely looking up and occupying himself with whatever it is he is doing behind his desk. His manor is threatening,he pontificates in ultimatums and threats, never once offering any explanation. He wants to justify his actions partly by some description of his dealings with his family and father. Her does not listen nor is he interested in all the facts and does not listen to all the parties, displaying an obvious partiality. He makes snap dogmatic decisons upon his own prejudged ideas and then announces them to those present in a rude and nasty manor, with an understood footnote that you had better obey or else. If a judge is supposed to have civility, compassion, humility and a strong desire to render an impartial judgement based on facts, then Robert Dibello is not the person to vote for! He can best serve the people by leaving the judicial system and persuing a career that is more suited to his dysfunctional personality.

To begin, he is rude, disrespectful, condesending, full of himself, and most importantly.....does not acquaint himself on ALL OF THE FACTS pertaining to the case. I found him to be misogynistic in nature.

Unbelievable!!!This judge should be put behind bars. He should not be able to rule on anything. He is hot headed, self centered, individual.Never bothered to read the papers before he entered the court room. He acts like he knows it all.It was his way or no way.I can't believe they let this guy practice.

Very tempermental and rude. Berates staff in front of litigants. Borders on obnoxious. Continually confuses the parties and switches sides midstream. Does not read the file or updated information prior to hearing the case. He threatens the absurd and is laughable.

Tempermental. A legend in his own mind. Drawing him is the poster child for a bad day. Agree completely with prior comments NY 1650 and 1303.

He thinks the world of himself and lets you know it. Manicured nails, cufflinks, etc. His calendar is called from the bench, he conferences cases from the bench, on the record. He talks about himself in every conference, making the calendars very long. He will bend over backwards for his friends, but the rest can take a hike. He sometimes snaps, lectures and threatens. Nobody works as hard as he does. If you end up in his robing room, he puts his feet on his own desk and pontificates, then makes personal phone calls while you wait. Woe be to he or she who enters there.

It would behoove him to open up a law book once in a while when handling cases that are overflow from another court. Not well versed at all, rude, nasty and sneering. Judges by his robes, not on the law. Judges by force of will.
