I have appeared before Judge Dillon several times on different matters during his time on the trial bench. I have found him to be careful, thoughtful, courtesous to litigants and counsel and eminently fair in all respects. I find him to be a credit to the Bar and Bench and we miss Judge Dillon's careful anaylsis and sharp mind at the Trial Bar.

A superb jurist. Very evenhanded, courteous, knowledgeable and above all fair temperament to be admired. As able and well liked and even admired as his grandfather was before him. I wish he could be on the bench for every appeal argument i present in his court.

I have had the priviledge of appearing before Judge Dillon in Supreme Court as well as at the Appellate level. He is extremely highly regarded by the trial and appellate bar as a scholarly even handed judge, and when he was on the Supreme Court Bench, a master negotiator as well. He is a model for judicial temperment, scholarship, work ethic, and common sense. We desperately need more "Mark Dillons" on the New York Bench. H

This is the type of judge that makes you remember why you became an attorney. That is as true in his performance on the appellate bench as it was when he was a trial judge. He is an example of the justice system at its best, particularly in the areas of scholarship and even-handedness.

Outwardly personable and attentive, but in my appeal, placed himself on the panel where he had been a judge in the case in the underlying matter and had a deep dislike of the Plaintiff. He would not recuse himself and destroyed the party on the appeal in what I believe to be an intellectually dishonest opinion.

A particularly fine Judge (like his grandfather before him). In over 50 years as a litigator I have not seen too many his equal. Court of Appeals material, even though we differ widely politically. He is fair, knowledgeable, respectful, modest etc. Only complaint: He isnot on all my appellate panels.
