This judge played a role in violating my constitutional and civil rights. She disregarded the facts of a fraud claim via faulty service claim . Over looked and allowed a fraudulent claim to be substantiated in default judgement. This judge was aggressive and careless of the facts . How can a case that is fraud be given validation due to a default judgement . One would think a false claim fraud can’t be expected to be honest at any point !

After reviewing other comments against Judge D Gonzalez, I would have to agree about her self worth is best then to think of others wellbeing and fair treatment. Judge Gonzalez restrained me of future filing for having “many complaints”, but only actioned against me AFTER, Division of Human Rights were ordered to redact my personal medical status on NYSEF which all were (5)females and was the only male . The best part the Admin Order was back dated and sent to me via email two weeks later where then DHR uploaded the amended answer and directed the admin order to be sent to all the justices causing invasion of privacy, embarrassment and influence some of the past cases to be dismissed or threaten to sanction due to this admin order . I don’t know her or at least give me an opportunity to defend myself and now she won’t let me appeal or even hear me out. Which I am a person of domestic violence with disabilities.

Pro defendant, anti woman Judge. Ignorant of the law. Refuses to let anything be put on the record. Many per diems refuse to appear before her. Just dreadful.

A handful of positive comments here use virtually identical phrasing, and are clearly posted by the judge herself and/or by her staff at her direction. So they represent Justice Gonzalez's "answer", if you can call it that, to the astonishingly consistent criticism she receives from the bar. Basically, she congratulates herself for 3 things: "tough, but fair", "you better know your case" and "she's finally moving cases". Well, in the immortal words of Quenting Tarantino, allow me to retort.

"Tough". Depends on your definition of "tough". We're talking about a judge who is so intellectually bankrupt and has an ego so fragile, she never issues a written decision, lest it be reversed on appeal. Being an equal-opportunity asshole towards people under your authority isn't being "tough"; it's just your good old bullying. Like most sadistic, petty tyrants, when faced with someone in a position of authority over her, she is a miserable coward who lacks the courage of her convictions.

"Fair": There is nothing "fair" about a court that operates in secret. That's right: she operates a secret court. No record of the proceedings is ever made. No written decision is ever issued. There is no surer way to incur this judge's wrath than to politely ask her to reduce her crackpot pronouncements to a written decision that you can then take to the Appellate Division. Ask for a court reporter, and she'll threaten to sanction you, your boss, your firm, your dentist, your dog walker, your client and your client's mom. Moreover, only lawyers on one case at a time are admitted into her courtroom, so there is never a disinterested witness to what goes on inside. Not only is this not fair in a general sense -- only a judge who knows she's doing wrong and wants to evade responsibility for her wrongdoing would want her court to be secret; it's palpably unconstitutional. Absent a compelling reason for secrecy to protect the interests of the parties (not the judge) legal proceedings in this country must be public. Gonzalez's court is an ongoing due process violation. It's completely appalling that the Court of Appeals is letting her get away with it.

"You better know your case": It takes a lot of gall for the judge to say this, when she herself doesn't take the time to familiarize herself with cases before her. She either doesn't read submissions at all, or top-sheets them, yet has the temerity to imagine that she knows and understands a case better than attorneys who have worked on it for years and prepared the papers that she hasn't deigned to read. The ego on that woman.

"Me move cases": That's rich. During the COVID pandemic, this judge didn't do squat for a year and a half, while collecting a full salary, despite the fact that New York has had electronic filing for years, and there was plenty judges could do while in-person appearances were banned. Not surprisingly, this prolonged inaction caused the pre-existing backlog of cases in the Bronx to get much worse. None of us, mere mortals, had the luxury of drawing a full salary and benefits, and enjoying complete job security, while doing absolutely nothing for 18 months -- yet it's the mere mortals who must now pay the price for her self-gifted vacation. As if it's anyone's fault but hers she did no work and never instructed the judges she supervises to at least go through the pending motions.

So, I don't know who the judge is trying to fool here. Herself, perhaps.

Been practicing before this judge for over 10 years. Not once did she fail to treat me like garbage. She goes out of her way to berate, humiliate and dehumanize. Even if you "win", she'll still make it very clear she considers you trash. It's not just me; a couple of phoney-baloney positive reviews here aside, she is universally hated. Her favorite 2 phrases are "I don't care" and "It's not my problem" -- it's, like, 90% of everything she says. Doesn't read papers, doesn't know the law, comes on the bench unprepared and just berates people for having inconvenienced her by making her do her job. A disgrace to the legal system and a disgrace to humanity.

When a judge declares, "I don't care," she signals a malaise and arrogance to the public. This judge is a disgrace to the bench. She has zero ability to settle cases and showed no eagerness to fulfill her function. I wonder out loud why she just doesn't just go away. She's much better off working alone in a cubicle.

I had two appearances before her in STP over the last couple months. Gratuitously nasty both times. Right from the get-go. Downright mean. What the hell is her problem? There's a sneer affixed to her face. And made no effort to settle the case. None. Zero. Zip. And it coulda helped. Please, whoever is reading this, get her outta there.

Mean, nasty and vindictive. Biased in favor of deadbeat dad defendant. Plays fast & loose with procedures. A Tyrant & Bully. Misapplies settled law. Other posted negative comments are valid! She shouldn't even be allowed to preside in traffic court. Disregard her staff's glowing comments.

Judge Gonzalez is one of the first judges that actually moves cases in the Bronx. She is tough but fair. You better know your case when you walk in because she will ask questions and she expects you to know the answers. Despite the pressure of having to move cases, she still hasn't lost her human side. Bottom line, it's a new day in the Bronx. Be prepared and be ready to get sent out if you get a trial date.

This Judge should not be assigned to Special Trial Part. She does not look at both arguments and overtly sides with the defendant regardless of what the facts are. Her efforts are counterproductive in what she is assigned to do, settle or send out cases. She does not have the temperament to be a judge, in my opinion as a former sitting member of the Bronx Judicial Screening Committee.

This judge lives up to her reputation as someone who speaks before thinking. Zero common sense. No control of the family courtroom. Easily baboozled. I prayer for the next femal that is in worst position then I was. She doesn't belong in the court room. She is either bedazzled by men in suites are intimidated. Screaming at people
doesn't mean you are knowledgeable of the law. God bless Judge Eddie McShan who in two months ended my divorce what Gonzales was not capable do in 4 years because of her bias towards her defendant. "What goes around comes around" is what she said after she said she hated me without listening to the facts and therefore enableing the defendant. She also punished me for dropping my first lawyer who was taking advantage of me and Judge Gonzales kept using it against me throughout the four year trial. Shame on you.

Sits around with the defense attorneys all day, brazenly pro defendant, with a very nasty demeaning attitude. Will belittle your case and your client and pressure you to ask for as little money as possible. Essentially she will try the case for the defendants. How someone like this can be elected a judge is beyond me. Overall she is an aberration to the bench.

Fair. Tough. Good common sense approach in Criminal Court. Efficient and is able to perform her duties quickly without compromising her duties or the rights of any of the participants. Will listen to her staff, protect them but not afraid to admonish them when necessary.

No nonsense judge who uses common sense.
She cuts through the endless paperwork
and resolves her calendars with lightening speed. She is not easily
intimidated and dispenses fair and
equitable justice.
