Comments:
Jacobson has allowed an owner in our condominiun to accumulate more than $115,000 in unpaid common charges, legal fees and fines with no repercutions. Over the past 6 years, Jacboson has allowed this owner to defy multiple court orders to pay her arrears, with no consequences for her contempt of the court's order. Jacobson has put every possible legal hurdle in our way to collect on the money that is owed to the condominium, and has given this deliquent owner every possible opporutnity to continnue, delay and defy the legal system. There has been no denial of the facts of this case - that this owner persists in not paying her common charges, engages in illegal construction in her apartment which has resulted in conditions that are in violation of building codes and present a fire hazard to the building and has even illegally annexed a portion of common area to her own apartment, and yet Jacboson does nothing to enforce the laws that she is charged to uphold. Jacboson is a disgrace to the bench.

Unfriendly to creditor (plaintiff), disregarded premises of loan agreement.

Did resolve the issue eventually to her credit.

She really earns her nickname of "Crazy Laura Jacobson." Any time spent in her courtroom is an adventure. Yesterday she yelled at me because I "looked like" someone whose cell phone went off in court. Seriously. Her temperament runs from sarcastic and snarly to downright mean. One of the worst judges I have seen in 30 years of practice.

I was a plaintiff in the case and had to testify in her court room. She was completely unprofessional and downright nasty from the moment I was sworn in. She took issue with the fact that I am from another part of the country and do not have a NY accent. She actually asked (very rudely) if my company could send somebody from Brooklyn. She also questioned me on different aspects of the law-I'm not an attorney. I think she is a complete idiot and I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with her. She must be a miserable human being.

She is not stupid or particularly lazy - but she is rude, humorless, spiteful towards all members of the bar - worse towards her own gender - she is everything you should never be if you aspire to sit on the bench - there isn't a lawyer I know who doesn't cringe when they realize they have been assigned to her - What a nasty piece of work she is - One can only hope that there is a glimmer of hope that she is not returned to the bench when her time to be re-elected comes up - surely that won't happen but we lawyers can fantasize.

Who's angrier, her or her husband who lost his license to practice law some years back?

is it possible for a person to be borne without any sense of humor - if so the jurist is proof of that.
she is gratuitously nasty- more so to women than men - never smiles, never ever laughs - whatever problems she has she makes sure she is a misery on the bench - in a work UNPLEASANT

This jurist - Laura Jacobson - is rude and nasty, she insult anybody in her presence who dare to say a word she object, or just enjoy bulling others, it is known her colleague dislike her immensely and they wonder how she is allowed to be on the bench given her mental incompetence.

Seemed to reach one conclusion at oral argument and then handed down an opposite decision. She did take the time to read papers and learn the facts, which is light-years ahead of most.

Entirely pro plaintiff. Can be nasty, especially towards women attorneys.

This jurist had the nerve to ask a lawyer arguing in front of her whether English was his second language - and when he had the temerity to object, she had him thrown out of the courtroom. When this very same lawyer went to file a complaint with OCA, he was advised that they were aware of the problems in her part, but not to worry, she was going to be taken out of a City part and given a trial part where she could presumably only hurt one litigant at a time. You can't make this stuff up - you know it's true if you've ever had the privilege of practicing in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Kings. Judge Kaye should spend some time there as a lawyer and then tell me the judges need raises.
