One of the most imcompetent judges ever. Not just arrogant but outright stupid (and I hate using that word)and lazy. Another case of a policical hack being rewarded with a position she is totally unqualified for.

Judge Phoenix ask a question and then demands that you be quiet. She purposely provides incorrect information to defendants. She recused herself to avoid answering my motion to recuse.

A nightmare walking; cant discuss anything with her. She cuts you off as you are speaking. It is unbelievable that she gets re-elected.

Lazy is but one of the many adjectives I can say about Andrea Phoenix. Schedules 1 trial a day; 2 if you're lucky. That means the dozens of other cases on her trial calendar get pushed to ridiculous dates later on in the year. Slow is yet another great adjective for this 'fine' jurist. Where other judges dispose of their calendar in a timely and efficient manner, Judge Phoenix lingers on with her calendar until the attorneys and litigants want to borrow the court officer's pistol and fire one shot in their own heads just to put themselves out of misery. Decides cases on her own "intuition," ignoring the law, is yet another attribute. One positive attribute is that, at least from what I have observed, she has not shouted at people in the courtroom. One other "positive" attribute is that she convinced a pro se litigant to settle her case rather than get an adjournment and eventually lose. Did I mention that it took her two and a half hours to accomplish this great feat?

Arraignment judge...saw through my ex's claim of abuse and gave me bail.....as the DA was asking for a year off the rip..over violation of a order of protection...there was no order served on me...she took the time and read the documents...I really appreciated that on thanksgiving no less!!!!

I have been practicing law for almost (3) decades and Judge Phoenix impressed me as one of the most competent, yet no-nonsense judges that I have appeared before. Extremely charming, and personable, yet able to maintain a strong hold over her courtroom in such a professional manner. I truly welcome more appearances before Judge Phoenix.

came to court with friend for support. both nervous since never been before a judge. Wasn't sure how to read her as her expression was frightfully serious. But after case was heard, her decison was fair. It put a little hope back in the system.

The worst judge in Nassau County. I observed her lose her temper on the bench and go into a rage in front of the lawyers, court staff and litigants. I simply sat in the gallary amazed at the show. She avoids going to trial like superman avoids kryptonite. She makes the legal profession look bad.

Excerpt from my complaint filing against her:

Her unfamiliarity with basic business law caused many months of delay in the successful prosecution of my case, and I wish to call attention to this to the Office of Judicial Conduct so that—perhaps—no other county business enterprise experiences similar difficulties.

I represented my self in court. I read these reviews and was expecting Judge Judy instead Judge Phoenix entered the court room with a smile and a good attitude. Someone else went pro se and the judge was patient and helpful.

She was actually complaining about her Clerk my first time in her courtroom. She arrived late to court both times I appeared in front of her and despite of the proof provided to her refused to vacate a bogus judgement filed against me by a sleazy CA. I am now filing an appeal. I also found her to be lazy and short tempered.

My daughter is still held hostage by the faulty custody arragement suggested by Andrea Phoenix when she was a bungling guardian ad litem in my divorce and custody case that dragged on for nearly 7 years. Thanks to her and her incompetent counterpart, Supreme Court Justice Michele Woodard, my child is wrongfully excluded from meaningful and enriching educational opportunities; My child finds herself sidelined from educational activities s/he desparately longs to participate in because of their bonehead decision in 2007.

Phoenix and Woodard combined are shining examples of the Peter Principle (alas, they've reached the HIGHEST level of their incompetence).

Maybe in 2012, some hot shot republican can take her out with a single pull of the ballot!

...here's hoping!

The last comment was dead on. They must have needed a woman/minority judge. She fit the bill. Dumb and unqualified. Bad temperment short on brains. The last comment on Alfred Cooper,Sr. is funny, I wonder if the commenting person knows her nickname is "mini cooper", as she is oft compared to the dumb and wacky Alfred Cooper,Sr. (you had to say senior or he corrected you). lol.

An embarrassment, plain and simple. She pushes settlement on every case, even when both sides have made it clear that a trial or decision on a motion is necessary. She gives the impression that she is lazy and unwilling to make decisions or try cases. She is very impressed with herself and her position, and uses it to lord power over those who appear before her. She is also very rude to her Court Clerk. She is an accident of political circumstances - having been elected in a year that was very kind to her political party. She is not qualified and should be booted when her term expires. She reminds me and many others of another erratic and eccentric Nassau Judge - Alfred Cooper - who was thankfully not renominated when his term expired.
