Justice Kalish I an exceptional jurist and understands the burdens of litigators. His impartial and thorough approach to case management is sometimes time consuming, but he treats both sides with utmost fairness. he thinks aloud too often, but the wheels are always turning in an effort to progree every case.

A great judge. A better person.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY506
While evenhanded in his rulings he interrupts far too much during the course of a trial. Any experienced litigator knows that in direct testimony there are areas that are deliberately avoided. His questions tend to go too far into the area of cross examination - touching on those skipped areas and sometimes waking up your adversary. Judge, listen to what is elicited from the attorneys and then make your decision on the evidence presented. You involve yourself too much.

Despite his background with corporation counsel, he is not as defendant oriented as you would think.
