Did not listen to any of my arguments, made up her mind before even hearing argument, did not read my papers at all, which she was not open to and would hardly allow me to speak without interrupting with her own incorrect impressions of the facts and acceptance of the distortion of law presented by the defendant's attorney. It was basically a "kangaroo court" and a travesty of justiice.

Smart and dangerous. Pre-judges the case and then does what she can to obtain her outcome. Continually interrupted my examinations when I was on the verge of making a point. Not a good judge.

I was shocked that a woman judge is deciding Kesha's case and is ruling this way. I think you have spent so long fitting into a man's world you have forgotten what it is to be a woman and why you became a judge. What a sad day for women who suffer rape and have to suffer in the court system that should be there to protect them.

Quite simply, the wicked witch of the East. VERY smart, but exceedingly pre-judgmental and once she decides who she wants to win, even before the presentation of ANY evidence, its all over, no matter what the evidence bears. 100% results oriented, extremely mean and vengeful, gets very personal with her attacks on lawyers and is unburdened by right and wrong - only what she wants to happen. Dangerous. Smart, but dangerous and a poor representation of the Bench.

The worst. This woman should not have this seat.

My Attorney Fredric M. Gold admitted to me that he and Judge Shirley Werner Kornreach was paid off by James M. Woosley III at my Breach Of Contract trial!!! She tanked my case, because James M. Woolsey's Lawfirm was in trouble for starting Case Law!!!Mr. Gold also told me he has a lot of money for me, then he would not answer his phone for six months. Judge Kornreich takes payoff's and belongs in Jail with the other criminals, she is out of control!!! I contacted the FBI five times and they will not do anything!!!

The criticisms of Justice Kornreich are unfair and appear to be grumbling by sore losers. I have found Justice Kornreich to be an attentive listener with a well-developed instinct for sniffing out and disregarding bombast and factually unsupported arguments. The quality of her writing is above average and she is an asset to the Commercial Division.

The worst judge sitting in Supreme. Nastiness served up on a platter!

All of the comments that she is uneven, angry, bitter and pre-judgmental are accurate. She is the worst listener and has no desire to understand the law. She makes knee-jerk decisions that are poorly thought out.

One of the most disastrous judges in New York

Extraordinarily pre-judgmental. Decides on basis of hastily formed opinions at preliminary conferences (I got the impression, on the basis of who shouts loudest and makes most implausible ad hominem attacks must be right? She didn't seem to me to be capable of concentrating on a line of legal thought lasting more than 2-3 sentences) and then doesn't even bother to read briefs of the party she has decided against.

Decides most facts on pre-motion practice before even affidavits have been filed. It is unusual to make a snap judgment in a civil case but in my case may well have been paid to take the action she took. If any simple facts prove her snap decision to be wrong, does everything in her power to prevent any jury from investigating and possibly disagreeing with her.

AND be careful, she has friends in high places such as the App Div: At oral argument, not only does she cut off parties who she doesn't like and doesn't want to hear from, she is dangerous in that she will schedule ex parte without notice conferences with the party who she has decided should succeed in the action. I only have evidence about the actual date of one of these but her earlier conduct was so extraordinary that I did get the impression she must have been 'influenced' at earlier ones I did not know about.

I make the accusation about being paid because of those friends in high places: My case was the civil action to recover damages for criminal acts which another (more senior) judge had thought serious and proven enough to let the pleadings be amended to recover damages for the thefts.

Kornreich heard re-argument of a motion for summary judgment (reversing the decision of the more senior judge!) against the victim of the thefts a half decade outside a 30 day time limit; and then held the ex parte without notice hearing to sanction the victim, [who had lost over $400,000 in the action] $25,000 for bringing the action!

When the matter was taken to the App Div, Kornreich lied to the appellate court about the breach of the Judiciary Law, saying that it was the plaintiff who had defaulted in answering the motion, thereby enabling her to hold the ex parte hearing. (The case was e-filed and the response papers were plain on the record). The Appellate Division (where the judge who had awarded the Plaintiff over $330,000 wasn't allowed any input into the complaint or appeals procedure) didn't even look into her obviously mendacious statement on this point!

But the Appellate Division also wouldn't even read the appeal papers and when complaint was made about her conduct and blatant breaches of the Judiciary Law, wouldn't take action and gave no reasons.

If you get this one, do everything in your power to change.

Irascible, short-tempered, pre-judgmental, unwilling to listen. Once she decides the position/party she likes, it does not matter what the evidence shows. Her intelligence is at odds with her flaws.

Comment #: NY3008
Very hot tempered, makes rush decisions about who she thinks is right, even before seeing any of the evidence and refuses to veer from that position despite attempts to present evidence in support of your case. Probably very smart, but rush judgments and wildly hot temper make her a poor and dangerous judge.

Makes snap judgments about the parties and then seldom veers from that. Once she's made the snap judgment, she stops listening.

When I first saw her on the bench I thought she would be fair. Boy was I wrong when I found out that she knew of my client. Very tempermental. Holds a grudge. Very dangerous judge. Watch out.

One of the smartest, fairest judges on the bench. Never mean, angry or abusive. Never plays favorites. Has reputation as a defendant's judge but I have found her extremely even-handed. Writes long, detailed and very scholarly opinions.
