HORRID Judge with crappy temperament. Rude to all especially those who he thinks he has some power over. I will laugh when he gets what he deserves. Even his staff was talking behind his back and can't stand him.

My experience was terrible. He is sarcastic, rude and inconsiderate.

Comments:
His sarcasm was offensive to my husband's memory. He made jokes in front of me, but off the record, of being bored with the testimony, let a juror sleep for multiple days during testimony, made an offensive remark that a juror got "cramps" because of my lawyer and didn't question any lying statements made by defense ("I requested that letter a year ago") with out asking for proof. He was inconsiderate to all as the courtroom is extremely cold and even with complaints and jurors and witnesses visually cold, was told not changing by his staff.

Hon. Alan B. Weiss is one of few commercial judge according to a lawyer in Manhattan.
He read every single document and made a decision based on the law and fact.
I can only tell all the good things about him.
A real star and super smart.

Comments:
Arrogant, rude, contentious, basically handed the case to the plaintiff by presenting departure questions that had little to do with the testimony presented (he did not take a single note during the trial), and were not shared with the attorneys in conference. The jury were tasked with ruling on issues (with one exception) that were not borne out in the testimony.

Takes the path of least resistance in deciding motions. Hides. Maybe he's a good trial judge, one atty seems to think so. I'm guessing that atty won big.

Terrible, heartless judge. I would be shocked if this guy ever actually practiced law; if he did, he was probably terrible at it.

I was on trial with Justice Weiss on a significant personal injury matter. He was attentive bright and open to reconsider his trial rulings. He is not a pompous ass; he is scholarly and a joy to be before.

unethical, misspells words, goes against the cplr and puts things in his short form order that isn't factual and just stupid for a judge in the qns supreme court-its embarrassing-does anybody know if I can recuse him

This thug recently got re-elected with only 10% of the vote, and now will preside over his courtroom until the year 2025. God help us.

I remember him from when I attended PC's in my earlier days when he was a law secretary on Queens Blvd. and always had fun with him--sorry to hear he's turned into another power laden ahole.

Defense counsel was showing up for motions with new documents that he had failed to serve upon plaintiff's counsel beforehand, as required. When I asked to see the judge to complain about this tactic, the judge was so bothered about being asked to leave his back room for a few minutes, into the main courtroom, that he tore up my motion in front of me, without even reading it, and basically kicked me out of his courtroom. A real nut case. Has no problem hurting a client's case just so he can get back at a lawyer and prove his point -- although the only point seems to be to leave him alone. Can't really comment on his judicial skill because he didn't display any -- he was AWOL.

Does this judge exist? I've never seen him come out. I'd hide too if I botched rulings on motions in a similar fashion.
