The plaintiff was Montilli plumber regarding plumbing job in my new business. After taking over 50 K from me he said that he was not good for commercial jobs and he didn’t feel he could finished the job.
It cost me the double of his estimate to fix his mistakes and complete the job by other plumber.
The general contractor of name TERAMO promised me to refund some of the money already paid.
It never happened. The plumber Montilli later sued me alleging that I owed him 25K for the jobs he did, and TERAMO the contractor was his witnesses in his favor !!
To complete the story, the judge DANA WINSLOW sympathized with the plumber and heated me because I am foreign and gay !
He awarded the plumber with 60K !!! Unfair, injustice ! But god is there... plumber is next to god now... I hope there is justice made with this judge. It was my only savings left for my retirement.
Now I am 66 years old and handicapped.
I hope the judge Dana Winslow read this if he has a soul.

Justice Winslow was tough-minded but extremely smart and fair. Does not suffer fool but knows what is right and did not play the game of avoiding controversy and siding with the powerful which most judges do in Nassau (at the most charitable).

The worst ! He doesn't analyze the case and takes decisions for sympathy. He process the cases without witnesses and discriminates people. In my case I am Spanish and having all the proves that I was right he awarded the plaintiff with 60 thousand dollars over a claim of 25 thousand ! / it was the only saving I have to cure my disease. I am 64 years old cancer surviver and he let me without a penny AND BEING RIGHT !

I have known Judge Winslow for 45 years and without a doubt, he is one of the most ethical persons I have ever met. He is also without prejudice of any kind. He is so ahead of his time and unbiased. Anyone that cannot
see this may just not be getting the answers or verdicts they want.

Completely off his rocker. A 3 minute conference will generally take 45 minutes to an hour, and the attorneys will walk out of his chambers scratching their heads. He may have been brilliant 20 years ago, but he is way past his prime.

This judge is an absolute nightmare. He is nasty, incompetent and should've been thrown off the bench years ago. On top of that, he seems to be senile. During the course of one of my hearings, he started talking about oil in the middle east and the volatile economy. Why? I have no idea. When I respectfully asked him if we could proceed with the matter, he threatened to hold me in contempt if I spoke again. Ugh.

This judge fails to apply precedents of law and is rude, loud, and nasty to prose litigants. His job is to apply justice to cases but dishes out injustice to people who come to court for absolute fair justice. The chief administrative judge should be aware of every action that this judge rules on the is extremely incompetent when it comes to credit card contract cases and simply awards all of these standby rented attorneys that appear on the part of credit card law firms and awards them summary judgment. Well, I will go to the judicial committee and every authority who has the power to investigate his issued judgments and fails to follow credit card breach of contract matters.

He has grown into the job, over the past ten years. Originally, I was not a fan, but now, though not a rabid one, I am satisfied when I see him assigned one of my cases. I know that he will listen and render a fair judgment. It may not be to my liking, but it will be fair.

He is a really biased judge that should be removed from the bench. (And Judge Anthony Murano should be advised of both his ratings and his unfair decisions).

His court room is like the cartoon Tom and Jerry. His temperament is so that he seems to be suffering from bi-polar disorder. He's the only one that laughs at his own jokes. He thinks the jury is laughing with him, but they are laughing at him. He looks like a giant at the alter, but when he comes down and takes off the robe he looks like an oompa-loompa from Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory.

This guy is off his rocker. He rarely makes any sense and opposing attorneys are often left looking at each other with puzzled looks on their faces. Sometimes, he doesn't even know which party is bringing a motion or the type of relief that is even being sought. There must be something seriously wrong with him.

He also attempts to conduct all proceedings in his chambers, off the record. He probably does this to avoid appellate review.

I served on a Jury Judge Winslow was the judge. He was amazing, fair and so forward thinking, I cannot say enough about him and how he helped the jury make a fair and impartial decision.

The judge is an absolute loon. Never listened to my attorney, the plaintiff(a homeless man)shows him forged documents and he is OK with that. He could not produce one payment on the mortgage that he said he was paying on the house that I owned. The plaintiff was extorting money from two other investors and the judge was OK with that also. We were never served by anyone but that is OK in his court. He believed that a homeless man had mortgages totalling 1.2 million dollars on three houses but didn't live in any. An absolute farce as a judge. How he stays on the bench is a mystery to me.

Judge didn’t want to have jurors. As defendant I was having all the proves and documents while the plaintiff did not have anything more than a couple of fake papers. This judge didn’t look to the papers, but was very nasty to me. I could easily feel that it was as a result of discrimination because I am two things that probably he does not like, gay and Spanish. Even if my case was a winner, as seen by lawyers, I lost!

There is something wrong with him, it used to be alcohol, I believe he is on some sort of psych meds. now. His volume goes up and down for no reason, he laughs at inappropriate times. Picks a side and there is no moving him. If you disagree threatens contempt and sanctions. A bully. Looses his temper. How he is still on the bench is beyond me. Everyone in the court has a story about him. Had a fight with a juror and for awhile not permitted to try jury cases. Should have filed a grievance.

He was amazing ! Not only did the little guy win, But he looked for things that amazed me , 1 Did you know that at any closing you need counsel to protect your rights, I didn't and this attorney basically represented both parties at a closing , Wrong . 2 never received a copy of documents that where signed 3 the bank lost the mortgage and tried to make me redo them , 4 Document's that needed signatures had Initials > the list goes on . And you wonder how it turned out , No mortgage , AMAZING

My experiences with Judge Winslow regarding settlement are the opposite of NY1038 and NY612. He normally does little beyond ask counsel if settlement has been discussed. When he does get involved, and he asks the attorneys for their "best" demand and offer, he advises that these had better not change during trial as this would mean that they misrepresented their position. Sanctions are threatened. Judge Winslow may be distracted by an undisclosed ailment, however, he is not focused on his work, and this creates all kinds of difficulties for trial lawyers. I have tried a number of cases before him, and he was quite good at one time. Sadly, this is no longer the case, but it can vary from day to day.

Judge Winslow is a bright guy, but he has zero practical sense. He tries very hard to sound erudite, but often does so at the price of leaving no one in the courtroom having any idea what he is talking about. He is too clever by half, and makes a big production out of everything, including routine matters; he often does not see the forest for the trees. I am sure he sees himself as a great jurist, but as an attorney who has practiced before him, I have seen many eyes rolled in his courtroom.
