Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY8771
Rating:3.1
Comments:
The 12/1/16 poster got it right. Huge holes in knowledge of evidence, disclosure and fundamental civil practice principles. Not treating parties fairly in my case and even if she did, riding the fence isn't dispensing justice. You have to pick a lane and if you can't when its clear, there is a real problem.

Civil Litigation - Govt.

While she is not strong on the law, J. Ash will research the issue. Unusual in Brooklyn Supreme Court, J. Ash treats both defendants and plaintiffs fairly.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY979
Rating:5.8
Comments:
Judge Ash may have the best temperament of any judge in New York City. Unfortunately, she is inexperienced. Given time, she will probably be a fine trial judge. She has a great heart.
During a recent trial, my opponent kept making frivolous objection after frivolous objection. Also, at the charge conference, it was obvious that my opponent tried to pull a few fast ones and I pointed out the errors to the judge.
My feeling was that several objections were sustained just because there were so many. Also, the judge should have stuck it to my opponent for attempting to pull the wool over her eyes several times with his ludicrous claims. Most judges would have stuck it to the attorney who was constantly wrong. I fault her for failing to do so. A judge cannot reward an attorney who constantly makes bogus arguments.
