Comments:
At times, he is pleasant and friendly. At others, his decisions are arbitrary and baseless. He seems pro-defense, and he seems to be partial to the major civil defense firms in Nassau. He does not have an inclination for original legal thought. He is not a bad judge, but he is not exceptional either.

I've read the comments of this judge indicating, in essence, that he's a good judge. Having had him on trial I now know he had his buddies post that nonsense here. I've always found it's these little men (five feet seven inches and below) who always have the Napoleonic complex. He's a total control freak, lacks any pathos or ethos and is just out of control. He may speak softly, but what comes out of his mouth is pure venom. I'm sure he never was a success in private practice so he took the easy way out but doesn't care about the single practitioners or their time. I'm trying my best to take the high road, but I just can't. In sum and substance, he's a scumbag.

Received a well-reasoned decision in a motion to dismiss. I also have him on a separate matter and he is very responsive and even-handed in his decision making.

Comments:
I had this judges for an emergency hearing for custody and visitation. This judge listens and carefully examines the evidence brought forward and makes a fair decision based upon factual information. He does not tolerate aggressiveness and courtroom antics from attorneys. It's because of him that I have a relationship with my daughter. He saw through the manipulation and lies of the opposing party and make it clear how he felt about the issues at hand. He was readily available immediately after Hurricane Sandy and saw the importance of my daughters well being. God Bless Judge Palmeri!

Comments:
He is weak-minded, and easily confused with relatively simple facts. Ultimately both sides reached a reasonable settlement, but this had nothing to do with insightful judicial work.

Comments:
This judge represents cronyism at its best. It's not what you know, but who you know. Otherwise, your case will go south. There is blatant favoritism in his rulings if you participate in the political arena -- otherwise, take a seat and watch how a judge fixes the rulings to sink your case.

Comments:
He acts more like a federal judge, except he understands the laws. He is an "old school" judge who demands respect and absolute decorum in the courtroom. He has a strong sense of justice and will not take B.S. from "slick" lawyers. He is one of the most fair and respectable judges in New York state. If you are not a jerk, consider yourself lucky to be assigned to him.

I can't say enough about judge palmieri. For two years I had been telling my lawyers the absolute truth about the ex and his shennanigans, and they all tried to strong arm me to settle custody with a shared arrangement, even with parental alienation...( minimal to moderate, nothing outrageous , yet still soul crushing to our innocent
Children). The judge saw right thru the lies and B.S. and called the ex out on the carpet in the courtroom. He was incredibly professional in the courtroom, and obviously an accurate judge of character who did what was best...AND to the letter of the law. No politics will affect this Honorable Judge with unheard of integrity in this horribly unjust divorce system of NY.

Comments:
Upon his election in 2010, Justice Palmieri was assigned to the Matrimonial Part of Supreme Court, Nassau County. That assignment is about as close to Hell as most judges want to get. But during his service there, he has proven to be a hard working, dedicated jurist, who has taken a remarkable interest in this field of law. Like few before him, he attends every seminar and is always digging for the right (and the just) answer. Don't let the stern exterior put you off, he is a great trial judge.

He is a very hard working judge. He can be a bit too serious and sometimes heavy handed. I would take him over most of the judges in the downstate area every day. He turns around complex motions in a short time with full, reasoned decisions. a credit to the bench.

I really have no comment I wish I could talk to the Judge Palmieri, about my case. I really need some help my lawyer has not called me back. I would like to go according to the papers that the Judge signed off on. I am doing every thing I can according to my paper work but the other person is not. What do I do? This case is draining me of my health and our resources. We're retired and can not continue like this. We lived and worked on Long Island all our lives. Please help us.
Sincerely

Judge Palmieri is a hard-working, well-meaning judge. He often lacks a sense of humor, and over-thinks issues which should not require such deliberation. He performs reasonably well given his abilities. He is a good man, but lacking.

Palmieri is a great trial judge. He is astute, respectful (though sometimes he can get cranky) and truly respects lawyers who really try cases. He works very hard and expects you to do the same. Though he rarely hears criminal cases anymore, his way with witnesses and litigants is very respectful and courteous. When you are in his courtroom you feel like you are in a federal court. He belongs on a United States District Court bench.
