Thank goodness he's off the bench. A very vicious and disrespectful bully. Totally unsuited to be a judge. Good riddance.

Not paying attention to RPAPL 1303 and 1304 protections while on the Appellate bench, Appellate Division Second Department. C'mon, Justice Austin, protect those who need protecting in foreclosure. It's not the banksters!

Judge Austin is one of the smartest, industrious and humblest judges I have ever encountered. He is fair, reasonable and will actually listen to the arguments the attorneys make. Judge Austin will know the case better than anyone in the courtroom and has no problem taking over the examination of a witness. Sometimes I win when before Judge Austin and sometimes I lose, but I always walk away feeling like the result was fair and reasoned no matter the outcome. I <3 Judge Austin!

Comments:
I appeared before him a few years ago with a complex case. He grasped everything, pointed out that even if my client was correct in every assertion he was making we would have a very difficult time proving our case. Was very conducive towards establishing a fair settlement.
