Rating:1.1
Comments:
This judge abused his bench power completely and literally confiscated private commercial property for the past five years for one particular defendant who did not pay rents, did not pay taxes, or water and sewer bills, or city taxes, etc. This judge nearly forced a commercial landlord -- not a section 8 building -- to create a brand new lease for an individual who killed a corporation dissolved since 2009, and did not pay any taxes, or rents, such that this corporation cannot be entitled to operate any business other than winding up previous businesses. Therefore, this judge literally forced a landlord to execute a brand new lease for an individual who literally dissolved a corporation back in 2009. There is no doubt that this judge abused his bench power and literally confiscated private property and awarded it to a particular tenant for nearly five years. He is completely biased. Furthermore, oddly enough, the eCourt records had been manipulated to show as if he did not preside over all the cases in the past five years (which he did), but instead the records show that he presided over half of the trials, and half of them are in another judge's name -- which is manipulation of official records. Also, the commercial landlord was looking for an attorney, and this judge did not allow thirty days (as according to the law), and so no attorneys were willing to take the case, as all attorneys evidently know and interpret that Judge Maher is biased. So the landlord could not come to court with an attorney, and then Judge Maher sanctioned the landlord $1800 to pay for the other side's attorney fee -- no one has ever heard such a drastic and abusive court order. Due to such evident abuse of judicial power, many attorneys in Peekskill refused to take the case. This is nothing less than a classic instance of a kangaroo court, and not a civilized, law-abiding court.
