Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY13186
Rating:2.1
Comments:
Definitely has no initiative.... three separate motion decisions with absolutely no legal analysis; on the eve of trial afforded a litigant the opportunity to amend the complaint and essentially restart discovery after four years of prior discovery.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4565
Rating:8.7
Comments:
If you are assigned him for trial, be prepared to try your case because he does not get actively involved in settlement negotiations. Fair to both sides. If you are trying a case in Nassau, he lets you try the case. Great draw for a judge if you are in Nassau.

Justice Mahon is not interested in getting involved in settlement discussions. Very astute on the law, respectful to attorneys and litigants and patient...will move the case along. Overall, you will get a fair trial.

Would that all were like him. Patient, compassionate, pleasant, suitably reserved and respectful to litigants, his staff and even lawyers.
