Staten Island is losing a good Supreme Court judge, but the Second Department is gaining an even-handed and fair one. (Perhaps this will balance the arrogance and unfairness of the Napoleonic Judge Mastro.)

I wish he would enlighten the other judges in the Supreme Court and tell them not to allow fraudulent foreclosures to go through. It is unjust. The Administrative Judge took all the foreclosure cases for herself so that she would be sure to make them all go through: fraud, forgery, robo-signing and all. She didn't like that Judge Maltese was checking the paperwork for wrongdoings, and that he was doing the right thing and upholding the law.

Comment #: NY4186
I wish I could have him as my judge. The judge that my case is assigned to is letting the other side get away with so much fraud on the court, that it is unreal. I read many case outcomes from Judge Maltese and he takes his time to look into a case and makes sure that justice is done right. I wish I had that same fairness in my case but, unfortunately I was assigned the wrong judge in my case for that to happen.

He is what every judge ought to be. He is fair, grounded in the law (rather than ideology) and protective of his community--Staten Island. God bless the man, and may he remain at the bench for many more years to come.

Wish I would have gotten him assigned to my case.It is extremely important for a judge to be fair, listen to all the facts, take his time and follow the laws because whatever his decision is will be affecting someone's life.I have heard many good things about Judge Maltese. He sounds like a good guy that cares about the people and the law. That's exactly how a judge should be!
