Comments:
A complete waste of time - doesn't know the law, clueless, etc. etc. etc. For the most part, it appears incompetence has become a precedent to anyone sitting on a State bench.

Comments:
I can't argue with any of the previous comments. Unfortunately, lack of knowledge of the law seems to be a cornerstone of his decisions. Well, here goes another appeal to overturn one of his decisions. What else is new with this guy?

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4855
Rating:1.1
Comments:
A true jackass. He is disrespectful to attorneys, and he doesn't know the law. Absolutely the worst judge I've ever encountered. He should not be on the bench.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4414
Rating:1.7
Comments:
Cares more about posturing and posing than actually resolving cases. Seems to pick a side and then harasses counsel on the other side without moving the case along or attempting to help parties resolve their issues.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4391
Rating:1.3
Comments:
Mean spirited, condescending, likes to make examples of lawyers and humiliate them publicly so as to show off his "power" as a judge. No business being on the bench.

Litigant

Comment #: NY3829
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
He is an emotionally dysfuntional human being who has no business being in court (unless he is a defendant with handcuffs on). When will OCA start putting unannounced auditors in the courtroom to get these bad apples off the bench?

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY3633
Rating:1.0
Comments:
His bad temperament only exceeded by his incompetence and poor scholarship. Reversed 2X -- on 1 case.

Nasty with a poor temperament.

Does not know the law. Avoid if possible.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: NY1121
Rating:5.9
Comments:
Judge Martin is generally a good judge, however, but for a peculiar personality flaw, he would probably be a very good judge. He is often intolerant and randomly changes the level of decorum required, even in chambers. If he effects a peculiar grin, watch out!

Other

Comment #: NY1007
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Judge Martin does not abide by the judicial system. He uses underhanded tactics, abuses the innocent victim and condones the acts of the guilty parties. He does not allow the plaitiff's case to move forward. Instead he literally frightens the innocent victim with his illegal tactics to the point where he makes individuals physically and mentally ill. Stay away from this judge!

Comments:
Very tough during oral argument but generally fair. Very patient.
