Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: NY8275
This woman is rude from the bench, lazy, expects attorneys to know things about her schedule which they could not possibly know, and generally is disagreeable.

Comment #: NY8161
Judge Silber is one of those imperious judges who knowledge of basic legal principles is grossly deficient but because she is the judge she can do whatever she wants to. Her ruling against me granting summary judgment to a co-defendant was blatantly wrong on the law, reeked of bias and animus towards my client, and will be reversed on appeal -- I'm willing to bet the house on it. How does someone like this become a judge? I've been asking that a lot lately.

Comment #: NY8127
From my observation this judge is abrasive and condescending. She does not seem to have patience in listening to all sides of cases and continually berates attorneys with whom she disagrees

Comment #: NY7753
Ruined our settlement discussions. I had a good offer but was trying to get more for my client, as is my duty, and I would have, but for her badmouthing my case IN FRONT OF THE DEFENSE ATTORNEYS.

Comment #: NY7396
Outstanding for her rudeness and nastiness.

When you are before this judge, forget about equal protection under the law.

Comment #: NY6329
I watched as she called a fellow member of the bar a ditz for no good reason, in a packed court room. The attorney she called a ditz was not in the court room. She kept complaining how she didn't feel well that day and it was not right for attorneys to expect her to act as a judge. An embarrassment to the Brooklyn bar.

Judge Silber doesn't know the law or how to treat anyone with respect.

Comment #: NY5596
Without question, this is the most disrespectful judge have ever appeared before. She refused to listen, was uncouth, and has a terrible temperament.

Comment #: NY5496
She is competent and respectful. She is a pretty good trial judge. I did not agree with all of her rulings, but she got most of them right, even the ones that went against my client.
I have to agree with the other comments that her clerk is incompetent.

Comment #: NY5315
Horrible. Saw her verbally lash out at an attorney for no good reason at all in the motion call. She doesn't know the law, she's rude and uncouth, and her judicial temperament is horrible. But, she's always on time.

Comment #: NY4975
This judge is jaded, bitter, and irrationally lashes out at attorneys. She cannot control the calendar call or her motion calendar. She makes completely improper comments in open court. Her clerk is incompetent to make it through a calendar call (marked a motion "withdrawn" when it was "adjourned," and failed to notify the judge of adjournment dates, causing several other motions to be marked off).

Comment #: NY3516
I am a former assistant state AG and have won First Amendment Civil Rights trials. What this Judge did in Kings County family Court is incredible, and she did it based religion and sexual orientation, reverse discrimination against a heterosexual mother in favor of a father who was ORDERED to pay child support and who the court-appointed forensic physician found to be "intrinsically violent." The forensic recommended custody stay with the mother, now she lost custody for no reason and has to pay the father, whose mother is also a lesbian activist. Silber was a chair at LAMDA.

I have NOTHING against GLBT and have gay and lesbian friends and have represented gays in Court. But if any of them practiced reverse discrimination they would no longer be my friend. She does not deserve to be on the bench because of this ruling alone, not to mention the curious case of Ms. Uccio, linked below.

Watch the movie too.

Dems watch as Lesbian activist judge Debra Silber steals child from heterosexual mother.

This judge cost me 1 year of my physical health and cost me over 25,000 in legal fees. Each court date was adjourned due to the fact she could not control the courtroom. She also over rode orders from Judge Rothenberg, without good reason or have any documentation to prove her decision for reversal.
