LOST MY HOME DO TO HIM.. Sides with Banks since he lost in appeals court.

EVER PERSON should have a legal right to TRAVERSE HEARING or tell the people that they need to bring the PROCESS SERVER to criminal court. Go to the police department and file criminal charges of no service.

If I could give lower than a 1, I would. Judge Spinner gave 3 kids back to a mother that CPS had advised against many years ago resulting in severe trauma as he gave them back to an abuser regardless of sufficient evidence before him to not do so. The most moronic judge in NY.

One of the only judges who actually enforced the laws NYS passed to protect homeowners from bank greed and foreclosure during the 2009 crisis. He was targeted by the Appellate Division as a result, in what looks like a lesson for those who step out of line. I salute you, Justice Spinner. You gave it your all. So many of the other justices run and hide from the RPAPL laws. You actually tried to enforce them. When you threw out a foreclosure by a bank that wasn't negotiating in good faith, it was the correct decision. They weren't, and often do not. You actually enforced it. The Appellate Division Second Department couldn't allow it to stand and overturned you. But you did the right thing.

On a side note, if you're so worried about homes being foreclosed on, or banks coming after you, pay your damn mortgage.

He couldn't even get hired for night Court. That speaks volumes. He went from black robed to black balled.

Years ago I had a legal malpractice case before Judge Spinner. I've practiced over 30 years and found him to be intelligent, judicious and fair. And that is in face of the fact that he dismissed my case.

His decision was correct, and he wrote it brilliantly.

There are very few judges who are as fair and responsible as Judge Spinner. Years after that case, I met Judge Spinner at a function and spoke with him for awhile. He was a decent and kind man, who did not have the ego and haughtiness most judges do.

His years on the bench were a benefit to the citizens of NY.

Karma takes a bow. He was ousted from the county job, he's applied for a traffic court job. They shouldn't hire him for dog catcher. These days he's trying private practice. Holds a Connecticut and New York license. He has a history of bankruptcy, multiple unpaid traffic tickets, CPS removed his grandson from his custody, he committed election fraud, and lied under oath to a Connecticut bankruptcy judge and was chastised in the judgment against him. And yet he feels he can be unobjective. I need to strip him of his license.

Displays contempt openly towards litigants. Allows inappropriate theatrics by favored counsels. Lopsided trial rulings often denying fair trial by not allowing evidence or testimony relevant to case. Does not recuse himself for trials of bankruptcy, foreclosures and custodial issues all of which has happened to him. Uses his influence to get criminal and Drug charges quashed with his child. He should retire or be disbarred but personnel and co-workers are too scared to speak up or just stick to the black robe brotherhood.

I found this judge to be very knowledgeable and fair. He does not use his black robe to berate anyone or appear superior, and tries to put litigants at ease. He has empathy and knows the law. The attorneys in Suffolk County respect Judge Spinner. He is by far one of, if not the best, judge on the bench.

Unfortunately, the people who do not like the results that are fair and simply justice served are the ones that turn to the ratings forums such as these to complain. Those who are satisfied and feel that the judge was of great judicial temperament, of brilliant mind, caring, empathy and such, don't find their way to these boards.

I was just told of this board by a fellow attorney and I am happy to tell you the truth about Judge Spinner. I have tried cases before Judge Spinner and I have won cases and lost cases. The cases were handled as they should have been handled. The cases I lost I deserved to lose, on the facts and on the law -- as brilliant as I am.

This judge is patient and kind. He allows everyone to be heard. He is brilliant and knows the law far more than every other judge and lawyer that walks the halls of that courthouse.

Shame on those of you who have sour grapes and turn to this board to try and ruin a career because you didn't win. You didn't win for a reason -- and it wasn't the judge. It was the facts and the law -- that is the simple truth.

I have spent hundreds of hours before this judge. He has a perfect judicial temperament, a kind empathy for the parties who appear before him, a full knowledge of the law, and most importantly, he never abuses the power of the robe. So many times judges are given the black robe and they become God. Not this judge. Fair, impartial, brilliant, a previous private practitioner (as opposed to a lifetime civil servant who cannot understand how real people earn a living) who truly cares about his role.

Three cheers for this Judge who, as I read in today's NYLJ, actually cancelled a bank's mortgage due to its duplicitous conduct in foreclosure proceedings. Here are some highlights from the LJ article:

A lender's "unconscionable, vexatious and opprobrious" conduct in attempting to foreclose on a Long Island home has prompted a state judge to cancel the mortgage on the property.

And he said that he found it "deeply troubling" that the bank had spurned what would have been a "win-win" solution for all parties.

Instead of negotiating, he said that the bank had engaged in "harsh, repugnant, shocking and repulsive" treatment of the homeowner.

"It was evident from [the bank representative's] opprobrious demeanor and condescending attitude that no proffer by Defendant (short of consent to foreclosure and ejectment of Defendant and her family) would be acceptable to Plaintiff," the judge wrote, adding that even a "desperate" offer of a deed in lieu of foreclosure was "met with bland equivocation."

The judge concluded that the banks' conduct was "wholly unsupportable at law or in equity, greatly egregious and so completely devoid of good faith that equity cannot be permitted to intervene on its behalf."

I hope the lower court record is clean, but it certainly is refreshing [and heartening] to see a judge actually dispensing substantial equity to pro-se defendant against a large national bank.

We need more Judge Spinners.
