I filed in Joan posners court room after completing all she had asked of me, came back with evidence of my child being brought around sexual predators, and evidence that my daughter who is 5 was being endangered by her mother's friends, in the court room my daughter's mother admitted to all of my accusations, as well said that cps ordered her to goto a drug outpatient program, 2 weeks later posner said cps dismissed all accusations and my visitation was revoked temporarily, I had to be drug tested, than my case was thrown away. I have never put my child in harm's way, and the first time I tried to protect her from her mother's awful choices, I was ridiculed and humiliated, and now my daughter suffers the consequences of being endangered as well as the sadness of not being able to see here father as much as she was or would like. Judge posner is out of office now, I filed recently to be seen in front of judge Martin, who I really hope will do a better job.

This Judge is biased. Most definitely does not allow you to share your side. She threatens the loss of custody in favor of the other parent whom has a long history of drug abuse , mental illness and domestic violence. Judge Loaner needs to be removed immediately

Horribly biased Judge. She "rubber stamps" orders of protection based solely on the written word in Family Offense Petitions without any consideration of factual evidence. She refuses to hear any supporting evidence and then threatens and bullies the accused party to intimidate them into accepting a plea deal rather than going to trial. Her conduct is disgusting and has torn many families apart and bankrupted their finances. Litigants and Lawyers are intimidated by her and afraid to challenge her. It is time for her to be removed from the bench.

I have watched this judge throw contempt of court out at the other party for the last 4 court dates; not once stood behind her threat. Judge posner never lets anyone speak their side, even though this family has been to court for the last 3 years and things have changed for the other party, it's like they aren't even given a chance, posner would rather get ready to put the kids in foster care. You guys know the state gets more money for each kid cps takes out of their home? I'm trying to find out exactly who needs to be contacted to have all tiers investigated, judge, child "protective" serivces" so if anyone knows the proper route please email this comment! The law guardians don't even return the kids school phone calls for weeks at a time

Only people who didn't win their Cass are on this site. I won my case, I have my son. Was judge Posner perfect? No. Was she always fair ? No. But she clearly took both sides into effect, listen to the kids law guardian, and took 8 years of stories in our family court folder and decided what was best for everyone.. yeah your angry and hurt, because you loss your case. I bet if you won you'd have a different viewpoint. I doubt you've all done nothing wrong and she just took your kid away.. hah yeah, I bet that's what happened.

Comment to court staff...if you believe this to be true you are part of the problem. If the calendar is so limited, why even bother assigning a judge until a trial. Try assigning cases at random and rotate judges so families actually have a fair chance. Once she chooses a side she will never change her mind despite documented proofs...that is a sad fact.

Family Court is a highly emotional and charged environment. The judges are in a difficult position of making moment to moment decisions regarding the welfare of children, relying on limited and largely agenda induced information. Trying to sift through the incredible and manipulated postures of the litigants. This is an onerous task. I know that Judge Posner does what she feels in best and most appropriate. I do not necessarily always agree, but I do certainly see that there is a rational. It is human nature to complain when one is displeased and to stay silent when satisfied. That is why these types of sites are very one sided. Judge Posner knows the law and I know does her level best to apply it to the facts as she sees them to be.

Firstly, you are naive to think they will do anything! I had a Paternity case in which another man intentionally put HIS name on my sons birth Certificate. In 1998 they had me falsely arrested on numerous occasions while I was in college, working and paying support for, and keeping a relationship with 3 other children. My life was in ruins almost and I even had to go to a new college to finish nursing school. My instructors were starting to look at me like I was Charles Manson as the arrests were in the newspaper each time! One time in Judge Mary Works (Ulster County Family Court) the Fake Father acted like he was rushing the podium when I was testifying, running just slow enough for the bailiff to catch him because I WISH he had made it to me!! The judge had him charged with "Disorderly Conduct" and released. He went RIGHT to the Kingston Police Dept. and made the false allegation that I had threatened him in open court! The police came to my house and threw me on the floor, arresting me in front of my 12 yr old daughter! I made the court aware and they did NOTHING! I had to withdraw my case and the Judge dismissed it "with prejudice" meaning it could not be brought up again, also saying she was going to dismiss it anyway on the grounds of "Equitable Estople" meaning the Alleged parent proved that they had "Equity" in the child' It was NEVER FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!. Of course I felt bad about it and of course would later be accused of doing it so I "didn't have to pay child support". The false Father and the Mother (rabid crack smokers) broke up within a year of this HIV positive bastard claiming he was my Son's father! The Mother ran to South Carolina with some other man, as the charges they put on me were each slowly reversed and put on them!............... Continued

When the child was 8 my Son's Mother's Mother( GrandMother) was now trying to get my Son and another man's Son from their Mother. As a bargaining chip the Mother of my Son contacted me and told me how much the child looked like me. I talked to him over the phone for a couple of years and met him when he was 12 and a DNA ordered by the SC court proved I was indeed his Father. I rode my Harley Davidson from NY to Monks Corners, SC overnight to be in court for him only to find out that the Mother and Fake Father had signed my Son over to his GrandMother and non-maternal alcoholic Grandfather for permanent custody the night before! And the SC court, knowing I was a litigant, approved the agreement and dismissed the case! Since then the GrandMother died and I have spent 10,000.00 in three separate Counties (Sullivan, Judge Meddaugh) (Dutchess, Judge Posner) (Ulster, Judge Mcginty) to fight for my Son. In each case the Judges dismissed my case "Res Judicia" meaning they were going by the judge in the 1998 case where it was dismissed "with prejudice. All this despite the fact that I had DNA from the DDC, SIGNED and NOTARIZED CONFESSIONS form the fake Father and the Mother of how they had me falsely arrested and even made false child abuse complaints on me about my other children, causing investigations on me! Regardless of the fact that I am a licensed nurse with a home of my own and raised one of my children after her Mother died and she later graduated NYU! I had no money to appeal and the court would not grant me a lawyer saying the pension I have after being wounded at the WTC (29,000.00 a year) was too much too be granted a lawyer! The case would cost 20,000.00 EASY to go to the court of appeals! I had 120 days to appeal that have expired, my Son now resides with a non-maternal GrandFather, a nasty and arrogant alcoholic that will not let me see my Son out of shear spite! Of course he will say my Son does not want to see me but the boy told me to my face he did until they hounded him that if he has contact with me he can say goodbye to his girlfriend, goodbye to his football team and move in with me! The child is only 16 and too weak to fight back or want to be separated from his little brother and the Grandfather comes across that he has "rescued" the boy when he has actually "stolen" him. My only consolation is that one day I may go "terminal" with this lung disease and when I do, I will not go alone! This was my Son, my blood, whom I love. And if I could not get justice, what makes you think you should??

I see. Was your complaint accompanied by evidence? Suggest you obtain a transcript of the dates you were in court and provide proof of the way the case was/is being handled. If her treatment of you did not allow you the opportunity to be heard in court and was biased and unfair (as is my case) then it must be considered by the committee.

I have already made a complaint to the NYS Board of Judicial Conduct and they were as helpful as a stone!
They "explained" to me that even if they found irregularities or fault, and in my case there are "questions" that they really have no power to remove the Judge from the Bench. What are they even there for!

This judge can try and justify herself by saying "Oh well, there is a winner and a looser. People dissatisfied are the losers" That would be a lie! This judge undoubtably is insane and rarely unites a family or works to keep a family together or children with their capable parents. She instead takes a "side" and her motives in doing so are more unjust than not!

This judge truley ruined my life I was a stay home mother of my children for 8 yrs I was never wrong to my children I never used drugs in my entire life I do not smoke nor drink I ever and at the time of my divorce and family court proceedings I was a straight A student going to school for criminal justice, my ex husband made it to family court first and they told me beacause he got there and filed first it would be difficult for me.... Then I got judge posner ...... I kept fighting till I ran out of money I would do everything she demanded and pass with fly colors and the supervisors and the evaluations always said the same that I could be with my children but she always denied me..... My ex supported us he made a lot money and had a great job but I swear I never did anything wrong and I lost all my money fighting for them and lost them to.....I was punished for cheating on my ex husband and got judge poster who punished me for life for it.... She robbed my children of a great mother.

As a Family Court Judge, I have witnessed countless rulings on behalf of a abusive, neglectful, mentally challenged mother over and over. She ignores the child's law guardian's professional advice repeatedly. She has proven herself time and time again to be prejudice against men despite everything documented against "mom" and feels mom's are the best parent.

I am well aware that everyone in Dutchess County family court has displayed how much they hate this particular judge. It's sad the same people who work around her feel the same this way. I have a family court proceeding with the Hon. Joan S. Posner where she has displayed that she hates me I have never done anything to this judge. Due to this she does not allow me the right to due process. She assigns me a lawyer two days before my trial. When I speak about how the law guardian or Hon. Joan Posner are continually breaking the law in the courtroom. Hon. Posner becomes outrage and holds me in contempt of court sinply because I am pointing out the injustice they have done to me. Hon. Joan Posner continues my case without representation and keeps me in court with het after my case is done with her not alliwing me to go home. Her intimadation practice of putting the court officers next to me and I have to leave when she says so. She goes as far as to lie on record and the attorneys are afraid of her so they keep quiet and participate with her breaking the law. ODD as it sounds I am a law student a mother who has three children. I have never used drugs neither do I have a mental disease. She took my daughter and gave my child to someone who is homeless used drugs. Evenmore, in different occasions this person would choke me and lay hands on me. Hon. Joan Posner continues to disregard this issue inspite of the many domestic violence report. There was never any dna to confirm if this individual is actually the biological father of my child. I pray to God to give the victory in this imperfect system. I could not put my whole story up to list the ways on how The Hon.Joan S. Posner has broken the law and violated me. Did you read the reviews? There isn't one good thing anyone has ever had to say about her, ever. She's awful. After this, if nothing happens, I'm going to move my case to a superior judge so I can get this biased person off the case. She clearly doesn't care about justice, she makes decisions without knowing facts, and when the facts show that her decision was wrong, for the sake of not admitting that she was wrong, she just wastes everyone's time.

This judge is an embarrassment to the judicial system. She should be tossed off the bench much sooner than later. Judging by her rating, I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. I think she would do much better at judging a pork-and-beans cook-off at a county fair somewhere in the boondocks of Middle America -- or better yet, a swine contest. (Maybe she can bring home the blue ribbon.) Truly the worst judge I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing. If you're a man in her courtroom, I feel very badly for you. I think she started the He/She Manhaters' Club.

I didn't deserve to have my rights terminated. She did not have all the facts. I have accomplished everything that the department of CPS asked. I may have hit a bump in the road, but during that time I was under a lot of stress. I lost my Medicaid because I made too much money, but not enough to pay for therapy and meds. I was going through a trial for my first violation, which I won, but at the time I thought I was losing. I had my plate full, and had to find an apartment on top of all that, which I did. Mothers do desperate things in desperate times. I thought I was doing the right thing. And what's funny is that my current therapist says I don't need therapy and that she only took me on because of my custody battle for my son. Judge Posner didn't have all the facts in my case. I deserve my baby.

She wasn't interested in protecting my welfare. Didn't care about the evidence.from a woman who served many years for battered women, she has surely changed. After my husband abusing me and violating a current restraining order. She listened to his lawyer's lies instead of protecting my well being. Threatened me if I didn't prove he hit me she would vacate me from my home with no job nor place to live. yelled she had more important cases than ours. Sad spent 2 years in front of her and i and thank god my son turned 18 .Bottom line if your a man you are screwed in front of her .police reports ,ambulance reports, pictures of injuries and she dropped charges and tossed me from the house , she is only concerned with keeping her friend employed, does not recognize dv against men.

Horrible, biased, prejudicial. For those who say a man abused you - the reward is you get the upper-hand, no matter what the facts reveal in the future, (if you are allowed to get to the facts). Period. Lets allegations control, not facts. Gets angry when facts upset her view of the case. Law clerk lacks knowledge to do the job. I am declining cases and referring them to others to avoid this court. Tragic.

It would amaze me if this judge paid attention to what was going on in her own court room. Her staff seems to have more of a grip on whats going on than she does. She rudley rants and screams at people in fron tof her and claims to be able to tell who is lying with no evidence. She must use a magic eight ball to make these decissions as people have lied straight to her face and she finds them credible. It's a shame these judges get paid so much and sit so long to abuse people and be ignorant to the truth and evidence. New York State courts are out of control and need to be cleaned up. These people are just there for a pay check and the law and justice seem to slip by them. Maybe if they actually represented cases in court prior to being a judge instead of being a law clerk they would have some insight.
