I also had the privilege of being taught by Judge Cohen in multiple criminal law/procedure classes, in addition to having him as my faculty research advisor. He is by far one of the most brilliant legal minds to have served on the bench, and also full of wisdom, warmth humor and incredible stories.
Truly a pillar of our community.

I had the privilege to have Judge Cohen teach my Criminal Procedure at Touro Law Center. Knowledge is power which is emulated through the readings the class was tasked in completing. Judge Cohen isn’t just well versed in the law of today but always reading the law journal and their decisions. He was an amazing professor, a great judge, and a nice man.

Extremely Bias - Consistently not interested in evidence in support of defendant and assumes guilt. Sentenced a 100% - not guilty defendant to a felont - without ever looking at evidence from both sides. Just assumed guilt based on false arrests and lies on tje part of the plaintiff who was in an affaif with police detective filing charges. Judge was made awate of thks and did not pursue a police department investigation.

In ten years of going to court he was the worst I have experienced. I cannot detail however, let's just say I'd rather shoot my own foot then go back there.

I was in a jury selection process as a prospective juror and went through a voir dire in Judge Cohen's court. He was clear, businesslike yet engaging and explained everything well . A long day, but a good experience.

In my opinion this judge is very bias! He does not look at all the evidence and circumstances he just
gives the district attorneys what they want! A judge should look at all the evidence from both sides and rule that said I don't think judge Cohen is honorable at all! And should be judged himself.

He made a statement on the record telling a defendant that "each person is treated as an individual here." Such a statement reveals this judge's propensity to allow personal prejudice and bias to influence his rulings. Justice is blind and all defendants are to be treated equally, not as stated above by Judge Cohen. He reveals an almost untouchable arrogance with his judgements.

Judge Cohen has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the law and a great mind for caselaw.

Additionally, he is a very nice person and is absolutely fair.
