Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY12083
Rating:2.1
Comments:
The reason for that early retirement - which came very suddenly and as great surprise to most in his circle - was oddly timed in sync with allegations made against him for basically perpetrating a fraud on his own court - by allowing false and malicious prosecutions to be commenced and continued in bad faith and absent any credible basis in admissible evidence. That just might be the reason he did disappear - when he did - and as swiftly as he did. But then there was also the case against him for inappropriate contact with a minor girl while he was a school teacher. It was the heyday of "MeToo" when so honorable Jeffrey decided to duck out the back door in a hurry.

Knew him his entire judicial career. The only competent judge in the entire state. It was a travesty that he retired early. He will be missed.
