Judge Masley is a credit to the bench. She works hard to achieve the best outcomes for the alleged incapacitated persons in her part. She is intelligent, even-handed, pleasantly tempered, and punctual. Unlike some other guardianship parts, Judge Masley keeps her cases on schedule. Judge Masley is very knowledgeable of the law and courtroom rules. She also keeps abreast of outside resources in New York City that can really help the impaired individuals that appear in her guardianship part. She truly cares about the people before her and works tirelessly to see that they receive the attention in her courtroom that they often have not received from Adult Protective Services or their guardians.

Horrible trial judge. Took a one week bench trial and stretched it out for months. No attempt to settle. She is the type of judge who reacts to issues she has never dealt with (of which there are many) with anger and hostility. And she always gets it wrong. Have your appellate counsel on speed dial. You'll need him/her.

incompetent, rude, a real obstruction to justice. Gives inconsistent instructions that make your job as an advocate impossible to do without offending her in some way or another, and she will act personally offended. If you accidentally stand up in court, you will be stared down by her as she points to her little sign. Dresses like a 4th grader but won't wear her robe on the bench. Just terrible.

Ironic that this "judge" is in the Mental Health part, the patients truly are running the asylum! This judge doesn't seem to be bothered with petty notions such as the law or procedure but rather relies on her inept instincts of justice- HOW DID SHE GET ON THE BENCH?

One of the more incompetent judges, but sadly over confident. Don't expect rules of procedure or evidence to matter. Try to settle before entering or beware!

Probably the most incompetent judge I've been before, unorganized, unable to understand the law or evidence at trial, an embarrassment to the many good judges out there! She lacks the ability to actually make a decision or to articulate what her decision is! No idea what she is doing, not respected amongst her peers- dangerous to any sort of justice - stay clear!

She is nice, but utterly incompetent as a trial judge. She runs to her old boss Judge Ramos for help, and changes her rulings from day to day. She has no knowledge of the CPLR. Avoid her if at all possible. She is impatient, and frequently cancels hearings on short notice.
