Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4508
Rating:2.0
Comments:
Very inconsistent; lets personal feeling compromise judicial demeanor; shoots from the hip on rulings; is either ignorant or biased on basic trial concepts. Very slow on pretrial motions even on defaults. Apparently unaware of the concept that justice delayed is justice denied.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4055
Rating:7.8
Comments:
Justice Bransten worked hard in a medical malpractice Part of court for several years until 2011, then moved to a Commercial part. I assume she still works hard.
I found her sympathetic to malpractice plaintiffs but not soft on "street smarts" or on the law. She expressed disrespect for plaintiffs just as readily as for physicians - when she thought it warranted. Yet she remained patient and receptive in every appearance before her I've had (dozens, including a 3-week trial to verdict).

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY333
Rating:Not Rated
Comments:
Unfortunately, this judge is very plaintiff oriented. Judge Bransten can be disrespectful to physician defendants. She has a temper that can be quite problematic.

Litigant

Comment #: NY49
Rating:1.0
Comments:
She is not particularly bright, nasty in temperament and heartless, unfair and biased.
She has no idea of the heartache she brings about. She has no concept of domestic violence or complex family issues.
