What others have said about Hon. Gerard E. Maney

Comment #: NY8459
Unprofessional, (robe open, red cheeks from obvious drinking problem despite being a drug court Judge), king in his courtroom, biased, dangerous for children in abusive homes, dangerous for domestic violence victims, an arrogant "good ole boy" If you have an attorney he likes you'll get a good decision. It shows just how twisted our family system is that this man continues to remain in family court...a place where families affected by violence need someone who is educated and trauma informed. Judge Maney is not it. The family court system is a money making business and this Judge right there at the top of the list of those sending litigants to whoever continues the money making process for all the professionals. Settling cases quickly makes no one any money. The Board had a chance to remove him for his drunk driving episode (the one where he tried to sneak away from a police checkpoint) and they didn't. Shame on our system allowing this garbage to remain in our family courts. Just goes to show how important it is to know who you are voting for.
