Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY13004
Rating:2.0
Comments:
In my experience, Judge Wade made up her mind, then listened to the oral arguments and issued her decisions. I saw little evidence that she was familiar with the pleadings, and she did not even have them available at oral argument. The judge does not regularly use a court reporter on motions, so you will have to request one if you want a record.

Comments:
I am a 70-year-old disabled senior citizen with a compromised immune system with a disabled 71-year-old husband living in a lottery-won affordable housing mobility set-aside apartment owned and managed by TF Cornerstone. In the midst of a pandemic, TF Cornerstone petitioned the Court on August 24, 2020 to have a construction crew enter our apartment and have us removed to complete non-essential construction in our apartment. Judge Wade not only ignored numerous physicians’ letters submitted by my attorney attesting to my physical and mental conditions, but threatened fines and possible eviction if we did not remove ourselves to complete unnecessary work by November 24, 2020. Her decision in favor with the plaintiff of the plaintiff was not in the best interests of myself and my husband. Our health and welfare were put at risk in the midst of an unprecedented global crisis. Judge Wade should have understood that this isn’t a “business as usual” situation.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY9830
Rating:8.4
Comments:
This jurist has a good judicial temperament. Counsel will not win all trial motions (no one should) but Justice Wade will give you a fair hearing and allow a full record to be made. What was most impressive was her clear, slow and careful reading of the charges to the jury at the end of the case.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY9333
Rating:1.0
Comments:
Lazy, makes up rules, treats lawyers with disrespect, clearly doesn't like her job, and her court attorney has a terrible attitude as well. Walking into her courtroom, you immediately get the feeling that she doesn't want you there and has no interest in reading your papers or acting with commonsense. An affirmative action hire.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY8812
Rating:3.5
Comments:
this judge seems to just want to end a plaintiffs case to get it off her calendar and to receive a high disposition rate. Does not care about attorneys and their clients. she has been in the system too long. She does not understand the private practitioner

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY8658
Rating:3.3
Comments:
J.Wade is very dismissive and does not listen to the parties. It appears that her primary interest is to have a high disposition rate. She therefore constantly dismisses cases. She gives an uneven amount of defference to defense atorneys. Unforunately she exhibits that she has not read the papers submitted to her. Not a fair and knowledgeable jurist.

Rating:4.0
Comments:
Appears not to have read or understood read trial memos on the most elemental aspects of evidence. Even defense counsel were shocked at how partial she was to them.

Comments:
Pleasant, patient and treated all counsel with respect. We settled before trial with her assistance.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY7387
Rating:9.7
Comments:
She is a very respectful and pleasant individual. She takes an active role in trying to facilitate settlement. Her rulings were right on the money. She takes sufficient time in reading the charges to the jury so they can actually understand them. It was a pleasure to appear before the judge.
