When a judge like judge Brown leaves the bench the angels up stairs cry a lot. Very difficult to replace honesty and integrity. Be well judge.

Comments:
Judge Brown is really an asset to the court system. he should be duplicated. He has good manners and not tempered. He will give you an opportunity to develop the case with discovery and depositions. A judge from a handful judges that should be duplicated.

Nice guy is pretty fair doesn't know rules of evidence regarding in relation to questioning witnesses. Doesn't understand cross exam and apologizes to the defendants when his ruling hurts that side.

Comments:
I find judge Brown to be decent and willing to listen. He does manage to see a lie and acts accordingly. He is a better judge within Nassau Supreme Court system.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY4844
Rating:2.9
Comments:
Judge Brown has probably never read a book or a scholarly article on the Rules of Evidence. He is absolutely clueless. In a venue that is overwhelmingly defense-oriented, the defense counsel doesn't need his help, but will definitely get it during the trial.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comment #: NY42
Rating:8.6
Comments:
Brown is a mensch. He can get a little whiny sometimes but he works hard to accomplish the task at hand. He has a hard time pulling the trigger if it means knocking out the People's case. He is more conservative than his resume suggests. He lets a lawyer try his case and can lose control of the courtroom because he is kind and not obtrusive. On the other hand, if he is angry at you, look out. He does have pretty good control of his temper however and goes out of his way to make a lawyer look good. He does understand what things are all about. He writes well and is not afraid to try a case or make a decision. All and all Brown is a good judge to be before as long as you are not trying to knock a case out on a pretrial hearing. If you are seeking discovery however, there is no better.
