Comments:
A very patient intellectual jurist with a knack for sizing up what a criminal case is all about and the just resolution of same. If only all the judges in 100 Centre were as impartial and just. He should be cloned.

I practice mostly in federal court but have had occasion to appear before Justice Carro over the years. He's bright and not afraid to grasp onto a nuanced legal issue which might inure to defendant's benefit. (You can see he gets a lot out of his law secretary who is well versed and prepared on the issues that are teed up before them).

Many state court judges don't even try to grapple with these issues day in and day out, but instead just move the cases along without getting into the law and dispensing justice. It's an easy trap to fall into when you have that much volume in front of you every day, but Judge Carro steadily moves through his calendar and dispenses justice. He reads everything sent to him and obviously burns the midnight oil researching issues.

I had him on a bail matter when he first started out and was impressed even then on his ability to be courageous in setting a reasonable bond in a difficult case. My opinion of him has only improved over time. He's humble and soft spoken but firm when he needs to be. He runs a tight ship. He's no nonsense and, in the end, a great credit to the judiciary.

He's smart, fair and just. What more could you ask for? He should be cloned and put on every bench at 100 Centre.
