Completely incompetent. She is a former clerk to a now Appellate term judge (Pesce). Law clerk's generally make terrible judges; they have never practiced law and think they know everything. No redeeming qualities at all.

Judge Cyrulnik is a very competent & fair jurist. She is very, very smart. Her demeanor is completely pleasant & she has excellent judidicial temperament. No complaints about this exceptional jurist.

I just finished a case in front of her. She was capable and courteous. Always took the bench at 9:30 sharp. A good habit in my opinion. She runs a tight ship and has keen recollection of all her cases. Good command of the law from the bench. She was involved in plea discussions from the outset and helped resolve our not that complex case. She is firm and I saw her almost put a defendant in who showed up late for the umpteenth time. She spared him but gave a good warning. I saw her dismiss some counts on inspection during one of my visits and is not afraid to hold the DA's of defense's feet to the fire if they stake out an unsustainable position. Overall I think she is a good draw for a defendant. I don't know how she is at trial though but my general impression is that she is really smart and evenhanded, which is really all you want in a judge.
