His personal opinions clearly affect his interpretation of statutes, and he makes little/no effort to temper his affect.
Additionally he seems to favor prosecution, though one would have hoped his prior experience as a DA would be less apparent.

I just finished a lengthy complex criminal trial with Judge Murphy. He is actively engaged in pre-trial negotiations and fair to both sides during trial. It seems he favors the prosecution at sentencing after verdict. I do not find that to be the case in negotiated agreements where he goes along with the proposal and fair to both sides.
