The court had before it a complex Summary Judgment motion in a City case, however the City was being represented by a private attorney via insurance. After a lenghty argument, the court then refered the motion to another judge because of the insurance. We attorneys wasted an entire morning and the judge avoided doing any work.

If you are an attorney with a motion in front of him, adjourn or settle what you can or suffer the consequences. Good luck if you are the attorney who insists he rule on an issue. Seems fair on trials, but just unpleasant all around for motions.

Judge Danziger evolves each term. He is slowly realizing just because an insurance company produes an expert with a pulse, they are not always believable.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY2549
Judge Danziger has lost credibility with both the Plaintiff's & Defense bar for his handling of 'No-Fault' matters

He used to be a great Judge, but now he is just angry all the time and decision are so pro-defendant that he has lost all creditablilty.

An excellent jurist in every sense of the word. He never prejudges a case and never makes attorneys look bad on the record. He understands we have a job to do and lets us do it. He is respectful, prompt and not afraid to put in a whole days work. My only criticism is that he tends to give burdens of proof short shrift when it comes to proving a defense by a medical expert. But even here he is evolving.

Tempermental judge prone to anger.

Don't know what these other posters are talking about. This guy is a disgrace. He puts on this phony facade like he's being courteous and respectful to the attorneys in front of him, but it is a farce. He is inflexible regarding adjournments, he precludes witnesses for the defense in cases involving insurance companies. He is a shill for the plaintiffs, and not a very nice person either. I heard he was appointed. Probably another run-of-the-mill political hack from the Bronx machine.

A fine jurist, a Judge's Judge in every sense of the word. He is right down the middle. He is prompt. He listens, he thinks, and and he rules on the record. Always rational, this Judge never makes an attorney look bad on the record unless he desreves it. He is nobody's fool and woe be the attornry that tries to play him. He is headed for Supreme for sure.

A very fair and logical judge who always considers the rule of law first before rendering opinion.
