I had an initial appearnce before Judge Pauley in a Misd. part at 100 Centre. She was prompt, knew the case and the law. Moves cases along. Rightfully questioned the People as to their bare assertions on a TOP. She did not rule in our favor on a discrete pretrial issue (perhaps correctly so), but I beleive she would give a fair trial. She is destined for a higher court; perhaps federal. Former ADA. Comes off very smart but doesn't feel the need to let everyone in the room know it -- like so many other judges we've appeared before. Good temperament. Never frazzled. I'm seeing the results of some good judicial appointments by DeBlasio in Crim Ct. -- like him or not.
