This part is slow- extremely slow. Both sides settled over two months ago and we are still waiting for signed Order? When you call to inquire, the clerk becomes indignant and rude. This is just plain arrogance and possible incompetence.

I just finished a jury trial in her commercial litigation part. She is by far one of the best judges in the unified New York state system. I would equate her to a federal judge in terms of the efficiency of her courtroom. You absolutely must know not just her part rules but also the commercial litigation rules, which can be onerous but are not unreasonable. Following the rules is mandatory and you will suffer if you're unprepared at the pre-trial conference and at trial. When you get your trial date you are going on that day. She is very smart and makes quick rulings from the bench and her staff all know what they are doing. I can't really say whether she leans plaintiff or defendant, which is refreshing in this city. She's good with the jury and you can kind of read whether she thinks you are on the right track in your trial strategy. I wish I could try every case in front of her.

Needs a better system. She refuses to take consent adjournments after first time on. Seriously? Requires an appearance and then calls the calendar late. The calendar call is dreadfully alow -- like watching molasses drip. This all demonstrates that she has no consideration for anyone's time. How terribly rude.

We need to get a fairer judicial system where judges become judges because of their intelligence and not who you know.

This judge takes the bench at around 11:00 AM in a residential foreclosure part. Refuses to hear attorney applications or place matters on the record in her foreclosure court room. Her court room is run like a dictatorship attorneys and the public are treated rudly accept for the attorneys she knows and appear for the Banks.She has the worse judicial temperament that I have seen in my 30 years in Legal field.

Extremely knowledgeable on the law, very good temperament and fair to both sides. Always treats attorneys and litigants professionally and respectfully. One of the most dignified jurist on the bench, and truly a pleasure to appear before. You will definitely get a fair trial before this judge.

I found Judge Grays to be extremely fair and had a good judicial temperament. I appeared before her on an Emergency Order to Show Cause and she handled the matter quickly and fair. I didn't get all the uppfront relief that I requested, but I left the courtroom with a feeling of fairness and my Client was very impressed.

This judge is one of the most dignified and gracious individuals on the bench. She has the judicial temperament that others can only strive to emulate. She is well reasoned, rational, hard working and diligent; things that cannot be said of many who hold this position.

This Judge exudes ignorance. She never takes the bench before 11:00. Her staff is extremely rude. The part clerk yells at attorneys and speaks to them rudely when they call on the phone , that is, if they can actually get them to answer the phone. My secretary tried for 3 weeks and the phone just rang and rang.
This Judge tries to force a settlement because she can't render a decision on anything, reserves on everything, takes years to give decision! Settle if you know what is good for you.

Very slow in rendering decisions. We are still waiting for a decision for a year now. And her staff uses a camera in the coutroom to monitor what's going on so they can sit in the back and make pirated movies and give them out to staff who come into the coutroom to pick them up.
