I'm a tenant and he was very fair to me. The landlord was wrong on the law and the case was dismissed. I did the case myself. the landlrod had a lawyer

COMPLETELY BIASED AND BLATANTLY AND OPENLY FAVORING CRONYISM. A JOKE! As for the comment from #1831 Heymann doesn't JUDGE "the law" he "judges" his relationship with the attorney. Good=you win. friend = you win. friend of a friend = you win. classmate's friend = you win.

Don't know who the previous poster was, but it's probably a landlord lawyer or Heymann's court attorney. Even handed? Heymann was so biased they used to tell pro se tenants not to start HP actions until Heymann's turn in that part expired because he was so bad to tenants.

One of the best even handed judges there is. Anyone who is disgruntled probably didn't have the law on their side in the first place

One of the five worst anti-tenant housing court judges in NYC. This fellow always looks for excuses for the landlord, no matter how strained. It would be bad enough if he were the only such judge, but unfortunately his appointment is part of an ever-growing pro-landlord trend in the housing courts. One of the reasons the Great Society and the Welfare State were created, along with rent regulation in general, was to protect the poor from social darwinists like Heymann.
