Somehow he is an administrative or supervising judge. His secretary (first and foremost) hangs up on people. And he allows this. These are people that have the audacity to provoke than to calm. If you raise the volume of your voice to be clearer, they hang up or tell you to stop yelling. Meanwhile if you were in a fire a fireman wouldn't tell you to shutup he would rescue you. This judge does not. He sucks plain and simple

Overseeing a disaster in Suffolk County. Foreclosure judges are not upholding the RPAPL 1303 and 1304 laws.

Comments:
This judge is openly anti defendants in foreclosure cases. Today's decision from appellate division second department in HSBC Bank USA, N.A. v Jean, where he granted bank's judgment on the spot and same was noted by appellate court, is very telling.

I requested a meeting with Judge Hinrichs to go over the three court cases the plaintiff has filed against me for the same divorce and he has refused. When I submitted my complaints to this judge who supposedly is responsible for the administration of the courts I'm told he is not permitted to comment or interfere with rulings. Another useless Suffolk County Judge.

His clerk and secretaries hang up on you when you call about complaints. This judge is the administrative judge for judicial misconduct. Carelessly reviews complaints. What a sham!

Awful. Just another reason for AI to replace moronic Judges.

"Derseves to be Chief Justice of the US" Haha, yes, good comment. First, you can't spell "deserves" and then you actually can be that clueless to think this Judge is worthy of a Supreme Court appointment - maybe an appointment to empty their wastebaskets, but that's about it.

Sorry, as a Judge, you reverse your own decision - even if civil litigation is outside your purview - you've wasted litigants valuable time and money as well as proving yourself clueless.

Well, on the plus side, many judges (at least in Suffolk) are unqualified to sit on the Bench, so he doesn't actually stray far from the norm, along with the fact that he was pushed to handle a civil case which he clearly botched. On the negative side, he botched the case and is then trying to protect parties by sealing records at the expense of the public's right to know the truth. For a Judge, that is reprehensible.

This judge is the most honored lawyer in Suffolk County. Not one person has a bad word to say about this man. He is brilliant, kind, and has perfect judicial temperament. (I worked for him before I became an attorney.) Good luck finding even one person who does not honor this man. He is the finest human being, not just judge, that I have ever met in my fifty years on this earth.

The finest jurist I have ever appeared before. Without the robe, he is casual and energetic, always getting things done and looking to improve the Courts. Derseves to be Chief Justice of the US

Former Assistant District Attorney who never left the office. That said, he is a very pleasant man who will give you a fair trial before he maxes out your client on his or her sentence.

This judge unfairly takes away children in family court without a hearing. He ruined a child's life and a family's life. No clue as to due process. He also uses lousy expert doctors in family court.

Tough as a prosecutor, but fair as a judge. Accomodating and very pleasant. Even though he may think a litigant is a waste of life, he treats him with respect. Likes lawyers and is very good to those that work hard. Listens and is smart. Has a very good sense of what is going on and what should happen. Is far more flexible on sentence than when he was a District Attorney. That is not to say he is giving away the courthouse, just that he is able to temper his feelings with fairness and a sense of justice for victims and defendants. All in all, one of Suffolk County's best criminal court judges.
