Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY2745
Rating:3.3
Comments:
Judge Waithe refuses to follow the law, especially in the face of a sympathetic tenant. In my opinion, that makes for a bad judge. In a recent case, there was a statute right on point requiring the tenant to pay rent if the judge granted a second adjournment request, but the judge granted the request and denied my application to make the tenant pay. He also insulted me by saying that I was trying to school him in the law, assuring me that he knew it, when all I wanted was for him to follow it. Now the tenant gets 3 free months, 2 adjournments, no payment, no prospect of moving out.

Worse judge ever. Does not take evidence into consideration. Very indecisive,a fine example of how the housing court system is unjust. He is a disgrace to the title "Honorable". I feel for the other judges who has to share the same title as him!

The best Judge I have had the pleasure of standing before one year ago. He's absolutely fair, thoughtful, a fantstic listener and noble. The title “Honorable” fits him 100% more than anyone else I have ever encountered in the court of law.
