I had him over in Bronx County. He is the king of bail. He sets high bail even for the most minor offenses. He will gloss over when the defense makes any ROR arguments.

Comment #: NY4506
It should be abundantly evident from the multitude of defense comments and the prosecutor comment that there is little debate: Judge Wilson is unequivocally pro-prosecution. I've seen him set insane bail when the prosecution didn't even request bail but OK'd release on recognizance for minor misdemeanors. He's the guy who set fairly high bail for somebody jumping a turnstile.

Comment #: NY870
In most other counties he would be considered average for being pro-government. In Brooklyn, though, where we probably have the most case volume in the state, the fact that he doesn't give Brooklyn defendants their usual free pass at arraignments enrages the defense bar (then again, once you spoil kids it's not easy taking away their toys). You can't b.s. him, and he calls it as it is. He's clever and nice if you are forthcoming and straight with him.

On the bench, he is often pointlessly cruel to defendants. Not so bad to attorneys.

Judge Wilson is the last person a criminal defendant - - whether innocent or guilty - - would want to appear in front of.

This judge has never heard of CPL 510.30. He sets bail on first arrest minor cases. He is biased towards the prosecution in a big way.

This man has quite possibly the worst temperament for a judge that I've ever seen. He is rude, abusive, impulsive, angry and, in short, an awful human being. It was a sad day for humanity when he took his seat on the bench.
